Brain Trust:

I have an opportunity to upgrade to a TT. Now I know I have had the C4S for 60 days but you never know when an opportunity arrives.

I orginally wanted a Midnight Blue 996. But never found one.

I bumped into a guy here locally that has a 01 TT and is looking to sell it and liquidate some $$. It is Midnight Blue with Gray and is all that I wanted. I told him that was the perfect color but I just bought my C4S. He said he was really interested in a trade. He has a dealers license as well (he ownes a mortcycle shop) so we can do the trade to only pay tax on the difference.

So here are the particulars of the deal. I personally think I should do it but want to make sure I am thinking right.

01 Midnight Blue
Gray interior
Painted center console
White gauges
OBC
Heated seats
PSM
Aluminum Shifter and Hand brake
No bumperettes
Only 5200 miles

Price 83 to 85k (we are still negotiating)

70k for my car. So my car plus 13 to 15k.

My gut feeling is that for the small amount and upgrade to the TT would be worth it.

What are your thoughts gang?

Sounds good. Set something up so you both can have eachothers cars inspected. Last thing you wanted is a TT with a twisted chassis. I'd go for it!

I'd do it in a heartbeat, assuming there is nothing wrong with the TT.

This guy has a 993TT, Viper, Truck, M3, and 300 motorcycles so he has a few toys. He just built a new shop. He is not liquidating much $$ but some.

My only concern is the user manual says if the car is driven less than 9k a year you are required to do a yearly service. I am not sure if this has been done.

Sounds like the thing to do. Once you get the TT, you'll never be able to go back.

Make sure you look that thing over really well. Maybe even an inspection. Drive it with the windows rolled down and near a wall so you can hear the engine sounds clearly.

If it checks out, negotiate well and close the deal...then open up the retirement account and grab 20K for mods.

I would make this trade in a second. In a year or two, you will have "made back" the $13K by not owning the C4S when it has depreciated.
