The rims have got to go obviously but its still a badass car, updating the flag mirrors with the aero mirrors from the 964/5T and itll look sharp!

Christian,

I like it a lot, except for the wheels - it needs the Fuchs wheels. It looks very clean for a '87 and one owner is a real plus.

Looks like a really nice car. I had an '87 NA 911 that I drove for 9 years, and would probably still be driving it if it had hp of a 930.

Rims are indeed hideous.

halluz is infamous around these parts
+1 on the hideousness of the rims. It makes it hard to look at.

Otherwise it looks like a really sweet ride.

3.6 Turbo speedline 18's and 965 mirrors and it would look great. I know, I had an 87 930 with just that. It was stellar (IMO).

I'm alwys into newer is geater philosophy.

case in point: the stouter 997T internals, coupled with upgraded turbos, hit 1000 Crank HP. maybe worth paying30 k more and save 20K in roda and heads on a 996T.

Do these things drive well? What do cars like this handle like? Are they hard to drive? Do they break down? What's resale like?

ari,

The 930 turbo is a great collector car. It's a classic. I don't think it would be the best daily driver (the heat/defrost in winter is less than ideal and A/C is not real strong), but it could certainly be used as one. I put 200,000 miles on a 3.2 carrera (same era, but normally aspirated) in 5 years and loved every minute of it. I think most people with these cars would drive them often, but have other cars for rainy days, shopping trips, etc..

Go back to original and it would be sweet. Push the ride height up and get the Fuchs back on... these bad *** "greed is good" cars need to look stock in my opinion. I love them! And red is THE COLOUR for the 930...

At least its an 87 so it will have the G50 box and the aircon, whilst still totally ridiculous, will actually work a bit. Definitely not a daily driver though... these boys are hard work. I had one of these 911s and I really found it rewarding to drive on the weekends but never appreciated them in the daily grind of traffic. the 965 was always a better car in my opinion for practicality.
