i have the regular seats in my turbo and i have the opportunity to buy a set of gt3 seats (not the euro version). Are they the same as the sport seats in the turbo or are they different?

The seat are currently fitted in an other car but i would like to bring them back in a Porsche. The guy says they are electric but not heated.

My question is, will the electrical connectors be the same? I don't mind losing the heated seats but what about the memory function, will they still work? Is this a direct drop in replacement?

I thing we're mixing up 2 types of seats here : the adaptive sports seats (which have adjustable settings and are indeed electric) and the GT3 seats, which is just a bucket seat, non-adjustable. Do you have any pics so we can help you out ?

 

A lot of GT-3 seats on ebay right now, you can go look (Porsche seats) and see if
that is what you are talking about, fixed shell type seats.

Like i said in my post, i am not talking about the euro version GT3 seats, so i am not talking about the one piece racing type seat.

Those are not GT3 seats...but the sport seats. I don't understand Euro vs. what? GT3 seats....there are 996 GT3 seats and 997GT3 seats, but I am unaware of there being RoW GT3 seats.

 

Those are definitely the adaptive sports seats and not the GT3 seats.
My understanding is that the GT3 seat is an option when ordering the GT3.
In case this option is not checked, the adaptive sport seat as displayed in the picture above is how the car will be delivered.
Most probably the seats you are interested in came out of a GT3.

 

ah ok so basically a GT3 has the same seat aas the turbo or any other 996 that has the sport seat right?

I read at a couple of places that the buckets seats, the one piece deal was the euro spec gt3 seat, i guess i was wrong. It was just a special seat for the GT3 and it was available here too?

i just did a search on the forum and realise it is not a plug and play, my memories won't work anymore and it seems like sport seats only have power recline.

guess i will just keep my supple leather standard seat then.

 

Those are not adaptive sport seats, they are the standard sport seat that
started with the 993, I had those seats in my 97 Turbo and now my 05
Turbo. The adaptive sport seat started with the 997 as an option. The
GT3 seat was an option for the rest of the world and in GT3s over here
just like the 94 Speedster seat were (Recaro Pole position), they are the
fixed shell seat made by Recaro. The guy selling might have those seats
in his GT3 but they are not "GT3" seats.

996GT3 North America standard seat / 996TT sport seat


993 sport seats

 

The one you show is 996GT3 standard seats. They're elec. adj recline but manual for forward / backward. Also your memory functions will not work with those seats.

Wross, Those seats are the "GT3RS" Euro seat. They were never a standard seat in any north american Porsche, but were a eurospec "option"!

I'm looking for a pair of electric heated seats in black for my car right now...
