on woosh from my dvs
on woosh from my dvs
i know this an old question but i'm goin nuts here
before i added a evo fresh air piping (that goes to the turbos) i had that great wooooosh sound when i shifted and now it's gone.... am using forge dvs and they woosed before . hooked up a computer to the car and it sez the dvs are working but no woosh checked all hoses greased the dvs but still no woosh. this worries me because i blew a turbo after 8000 miles some say if the dvs arn't opening this will cause stress on the turbos...so to make it short no leaks computer sez the dvs are working just can't hear them as before the change appeared when i installed the evo piping. any ideas would be helpful thanks in advance steve

get straight pipes and you wont have to worry about it
in a seriousness did you call evoms?? did u try putting the stock boost hoses back on? did you replace the f hose that connects to the dvs with the evoms silicone one?

Steve,
For whatever reason it's normal, as several others have experienced the same thing. My car did the same after the 3" Evoms fresh air intake pipes were installed. I had an enjoyable woosh sound that diminished greatly after the Evo pipes were installed. I can still hear it, but nowhere near as loudly. The Evo pipes are pretty thick vs. the OEM tubing. It may be that the heavy wall thickness of the Evo pipes acts as sound insulation, therefore, they do not transfer as much sound through the firewall.
