Thanks for all this work Mikelly! I am going to need to read it a few time as suspension is something I know very little about. I will not be tracking my car but it is a daily driver and is 65/35 highway miles. I do plan on getting my ECU flashed and adding an exhaust. I hope this puts me at or close to 550+hp
W/ all that I want to upgrade my suspension to get the most out of the car but not buy anything a DD doesn't need. Also I want to keep it as comfortable as possible if there is such a thing when making the suspension more responsive.*

Mike,

I had my 996TT w/JIC 's height and alignment set up to GT2 specs (supposedly by a competent tech) any way rear looked lower to me than front and wore out the inside rears PS2's down to the cord in 2k miles ...UGH $$$ .Probably Too much rear toe ??
Obviously he didn't know what was what.

I don't think I'm going to track this car for now ( I'll stick with my 965 which is all set up for track and lots of fun) and would like to set it up more for street use but a little lower.

So i want to set my ride height myself ,Front and rear before a conservative alignment.

My question is what would the correct height for ROW or a little lower as measured from center wheel fender arch . and or where and how do measure from chassis if car is on ground?

Car has JICs 8 & 12 KG program.
GT3 rear sway, bushings, and after market drop links.
Tarret rear toe links
Tarret lock plates.

Any help would be appreciated
Thanks
Elliot

Elliot, In order for you to get a good baseline, you need to really go by the measurement points recommended by the factory service manual. This will allow you to better compare specs with others... These "fenderline" measurements never are as accurate as following the guidelines set forth by Porsche. I'll try to post some pics of the locations later... I have the FSM in softcopy somewhere, just gotta dig it up.

As for alignment numbers, I'm having decent luck with the -1.5 front -2.0 rear setup with zero toe. For most average drivers, a little toe isn't a bad thing.

You could well have to much negatice camber as well... I'd think about checking into the Pilot Sport RIB tire, as it has a more camber friendly compound for the inner 3rd of the tire. Toe is likely an issue, but negative camber could well be a part of the problem.

Props to Mikelly.

Thanks to your suspension advise, I now have PSS10s, and GMG sways, which candidly others recommended as well, but the real hot tips were to do the motor and trans mounts at the same time.

It's all about the details, and you certainly have the goods. Thanks again
