How good is tiptronic on the TT?
I'll have to "come out" and agree with Don. I too will never buy a sportscar that doesn't have a stick. Not even SMG, and that means never an Enzo. Speed is not always my objective. Perfecting my shifting skill is. Knowing that I just executed a perfect launch or heel-n-toe with a clutch/crutch gives me great satisfaction that no paddles or buttons can give me.
That's all Matt had to say. He didn't have to call the tip buyers gay at all. It's a personal choice, even though they are gay
Back to the original question about how good is tip on the TT? It's 100 times better on a TT than on a Boxster I'll say. It's having your cake and eat it too with all that power.
I must admit that I still stall the car sometimes when I try to launch fast on a hill. No, I don't want to create a scene by rev'ing to 5k with the handbrake everytime. With a tip and 500+ hp, one can just dab the throttle and smirk the rest of the way.

I am not sure what part of my statement strains your ability to comprehend. Where do I make any comments about the operation of any transmission. My 575 has a full auto mode last time I checked.

A Ferrari transmission is a SEQUENTIAL MANUAL GEARBOX, not an Automatic transmission. Just like a BMW and Aston Martin, it is a Manual Gearbox with a clutch that is electro-hydralically actuated by flipping a shifter paddle. A Tiptronic is an automatic transmission with a torque converter, there is no benefit reaped by putting the car in the shifting mode, vs driving in the fully automatic mode and just flooring the gas pedal (wow... much skill involved in that!). Time for you to do some research.

I don't know, alex. Your car was pretty convincing the way it passed that regular Boxster with a tip coming back from GAF

If the tip was so crap on the track then how come Cort Wagner came 3rd out of the 10 cars at the last shoot out. That was with the WRONG brake pads too!
ANOTHER high-jacked thread by good ol' Matt.
Personally I lose absolutely zero sleep over the fact that people drive sports cars that are not manually shifted. Who cares about stuff like that anyway???
Matt ... you are a TOOL!
