Matt: you're just , this thread is pure entertainment.
P.S If you tone down the "you're all ****" part you could've pulled this tiptronic sucks bit off, because you're right on target with all the technical stuff. It's just how you present it that's pissing people off. Not me though, you should really get your own sitcom.
Oh, and everyone that actually drives a tip should just leave this forum right? It's called 6 speed online, not tiptronic online.

YOUR RIGHT!! There should be another board called 5speedonline.com for tiptronics... they can all stroke each other over there so we dont have to get into these debates anymore.

I disagree, your arguments only justify what is important to your own high opinion of yourself.

F1 is generally regarded as the pinnacle of motorsport racing and they use automated boxes. Albeit they do in fact utilize a clutch, they are doing nothing more than flipping the switch just as all the whiny **** with tiptronics do. Maybe Michael Schumacher is a whiny ***? Porsche may well opt for a more sporting automated system in the future but the tiptonic has served them well and there are many well heeled Porsche buyers taking advantage of the product. I'm sure one or two of them could show you a line around a track as you yourself admit.

I find your arguments narrow minded and petty but I'm sure you are mature enough to accept that we can agree to disagree.

Once again... coming from a non-Porsche/tiptronic owner. Thank you for your opinion, your arguement is well phrased, and I appreciate your ability to present your stance w/o instigating a flame response from me. However, my arguement has nothing to do with my opinion of myself, it has to do with my opinion of tiptronic, what it stands for, and the people who choose to buy it. Also, I cannot stress enough for the ump-teenth time that the automated tiptronic system, and an F1, or F1 style gearbox (such as the SMG on the BMW M cars, or Ferrari's F1 paddle shift) have nothing in common except the lack of a clutch pedal.

Please, for the love of God, all of you who think that SMG/F1 and tiptronic are the same, or even similar, please go read a magazine article or internet piece on this matter. When you sucessfully remove your head from your asses, you might think about trading in that tiptronic POS now b/c you will be able to see in front of you.

What you fail to see in this entire thread is that nobody CARES what your opinions are, particularly concerning tiptronic, and when you give your opinion about anything in the manner you did, it will always be that way. Nice to see you back in this thread another 4 times after the 4th time saying you were done with it. Shows you are as much a man of your word as you are mature.

i like both tips and 6speed, it all depends on my mod if im lazy or not... i also talked my service advisor and i found out that the TIptronics are made by MErcedes Benz (i.e.) the slushbox and that now the new 6speeds i beleive are made by a japanese company and not by a european one.. (pls. feel free to correct me if im wrong)

IMHO, I would not take anything coming out of the mouth of an "Italian suit" wearing cars salesman seriously. It has been my experience after purchasing over a dozen cars that they will say and do just about anything for the sale.

youre absolutely correct. Someone wearing a Brioni suit and tie, and alligator Prada shoes driving a 996TT has no credibility! Well, at least they have good taste.

your stereotypic labling of car salesman is typical of people jumping on the bandwagon again. people think that car salesman are dishonest, cunning and manipulative. the latter may be true, but it is the consumers who stigmatize the salespeople by lying to us, wasting our time, shopping deals to no end, and flaking after we put so much time in for them. you probably know as much about italian suits as you know about how hard people in sales work.

I Know that there are unsavory salespeopel out there and there are great ones.... but what i do not get is why is it wrong for me "buyer" to shop for deals? i intend to get the most out of my money? i do know that you put time into it, and i do know that you work hard and taht slaes people work hard but if the deal that you are making does not suit my needs why would i agree to it???

i remember that somewhere you posted, why would someone pay for a car at msrp? (unless you dont car or are filthy rich) i for one try to get the best bang for my money...

I can't believe how pompous and self-righteous you are. Sometimes I wonder if it is just a ruse, but then you keep going with it, and nobody can keep up this kind of play for that long. Are you THAT materialistic and narrow-minded to think that anyone here is impressed at all by your spouting what overpriced designer clothing you wear or what car you drive? You must have an incredibly low self-esteem and overcompensate with pompousness. You remind me of the little 'kick' dogs - they are always the ones barking and acting tough.

you should shop for the best deal, but I am referring to the ppl who will buy something somewhere else for 5 bucks a month less. This happens a lot, and it makes you want to strangle them.

You, Life Dies, and NoMercy should all get together and play the "soggy biscuit" game.
