Matt is such a newbie, it's obvious Matt, he sounds like a BMW salesman or something..Hey Matt, don't worry they're casting for the Sequel to Saturday Night Fever today in West Hollywood.
M3 versus Matt in his TT, take him to school at Buttonwillow and he'll be wimpering all the way home.

Well, since everybody jumps on the bandwagon to bash Matt now, I feel that it is important to point out that his posts had some valid technical arguments _against_ a tiptronic in TTs. In fact everything he said was technically correct.

I guess the only problem we have with his statements is how passionate he defends his position. But at the end of the day: Isn't it passion for our cars that brought us here? Isn't it passion which makes us discuss such issues so stout-hearted?

If we only could refrain from personal verbal attacks, then I think that this whole discussion would indeed make sense and would give someone who has to decide between Tiptronic: "yes or no" a useful reference.

Because... let's face it: A tiptronic actually HAS a gay image because of people like Matt arguing so strong against it.

But I will continue to love my tip...

Marx,

This thread became about presentation more than substance. Matt has some growing up to do when it comes to how he presents himself or makes his opinions known. That's all.

The loss shown of a tiptronic over manual is significantly overcome by excessive horsepower and torque, which the TT clearly has, and if you chip it, tune it, or have the X50, you have more power than almost anyone could feasibly handle more effectively in a manual versus the tip. Tip in a car with less horsepower has a much greater disadvantage, clearly, but in a stock TT and most especially in a tuned TT, I bet tip has more advantages than manual, with all but maybe 5 drivers in the world.

Well, I could have bet that at some point the personal attacks would start coming. I thank you for them all, b/c it just helps me validate myself even more. All of you who are getting personal have run out of stupid attempts to argue and have nothing left to resort to except personal bashing, which usually stems from insecurity of one's self (due to being ignored as a child, having a small *****, things like that). If you think that me being energetic to put down tiptronic, which is just my personal opinion, is a signal of immaturity, why dont you all look at yourselves. When you point the finger at someone, there are 3 fingers pointing back at you. All of you who are throwing out personal attacks at me, who dont even know me, making claims that aren't true, etc. have some serious introspection to do. I am glad that you feel the need to rip into someone personall b/c they feel strongly against something in the automotive world... it says a lot about your character. Before you start thinking about the great, replys that you are all going to type next, why dont you stop and think about what you are really doing.

BTW - Since everything I say is just written off as that gay loser who needs to get laid so bad, why dont you *** worshipping rimjobbers listen to what Marx posted last. He drives a tiptronic, so you cant put him down. EVERYTHING that I posted about tiptronic technically was TRUE and ACCURATE. This was the point to this entire F--King thread.

Matt, you're not very smart when it comes to arguing points. In fact, you are probably the worst debater I’ve ever encountered. Throughout this entire thread you have consistently contradicted yourself. The point of this thread wasn’t to bash tiptronic and certainly wasn’t titled, “How gay are tiptronic owners?†You felt it was necessary for whatever reason to start personally attacking members to begin with by singling everyone out and deeming them butt-sexers for driving tiptronic Porsches. Look at the quote above and read. You want to turn the table and bash those that are bashing you. Dude, either you suffer from some sort of retro cognitive disorder or you’re plain dumb. Who initiated the bashing? You. You'll never see my point or anyone who choses to argue with you because you simply don't get it.

You have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. All but 5 drivers in the world, umm... no. Most people who buy 996TTs that dont track, or basically have no idea how to drive a manual properly, yes... what you said is true.

Sorry to rain on your parade, but there are many more than 5 people who can skillfully pilot a manual transmission with an insane amount of horsepower.

I can't believe that you expect people to buy a car from you.

Continuing to argue with all of you is completely pointless. God Bless all of you in your bliss of biased ignorance. I guess when you dont really know it never even exists for you. Cheers.

What does he sell? I own several car dealerships and need more arrogant all knowing sales help, that do everthing well except for listen to their customers. By the liberal use of the term "gay", his level of concern for customers he may encounter is nil.

i might as well come out and say it. Buying a tip in any sportscar even a boxster doesn't make sense to me. i am not trying to defend Matt, but i would definitely agree with him. as far as the ego tripping, seems to me everyone is shining their alter ego, but then most of us do on this forum. no need to school people on internet manors, since no one really knows him or should really even care. if you want to see the true definition of rude i suggest you stop by argentina or france.

By the way, wouldn't you call all F-1 ferraris automatics? Are they gay as well?

Italian automatic = Cool

German automatic = Gay

I think I got it now
I cant believe someone that owns several car dealerships knows dick about car transmissions, must be a ring of Kia dealers somebody left you in their will.

I am not sure what part of my statement strains your ability to comprehend. Where do I make any comments about the operation of any transmission. My 575 has a full auto mode last time I checked.

I do not own a Kia dealership, though I have been purchasing automobile dealership over the last 18 years.
