Performance Friction 996TT Replacement Disc Proposal

Hello everyone!

We have been working with PFC (Performance Friction) over the past several weeks on an offering for Floating disc assemblies (Discs, Hats and hardware) to replace your stock Rotors. The rears will have a "drum" to accommodate the stock E-brake. We will probably be offering a "package deal" which will include pads in an effort to make the overall cost more attractive. We need 20 orders to get this off the ground.

For those not familiar with Performance Friction, PFC discs have become the standard at the highest levels of professional motorsports. PFC discs are used throughout Nascar with this attachment system, which was developed specifically to eliminate vibration, pulsation, cracking, and excessive weight. They're used by many of the Cup, Nationwide, and Truck teams including Roush Racing, Yates Racing, Evernham, KHI, and many others. PFC discs are also used throughout the highest levels of road racing including by the majority of Daytona Prototype, Koni Challenge, Atlantic, Formula Nippon, JGTC, F3, Star Mazda, and former Cart competitors to name a few. Ganassi Racing has used them to win multiple DP Championships, and the 24 Hours of Daytona 3 years in a row. In GT500, 60% of the field ran PFC discs in 2008, while 93% were on PFC pads. As for F1, it is the only non carbon brake disc package on the track.....as they are used on the AMG Pace car!

It should also be noted that each and every component found around the globe bearing the Performance Friction name was produced in house at one production facility in Clover, South Carolina, and was manufactured under the most stringent quality standards in the industry.

Looking for a show of hands to get a feel for where we might be.

Thanks!

I have the full Performance Friction Pads set on my TT and really like them. I guess the rumor that they went out of business is not true? I hope that is the case as they make a very good product.

How much for a full set of front and rear rotors for a 996TT?

I'm assuming the PFC hats will be proprietary and not interchangable with anything else. By that I mean their rotors wouldn't fit my Brembo GT hats. Would that be correct?

Definitely not out of Business. To the contrary, PFC is one of the strongest in the business right now.

Check our post in the Vendor classified for pricing.

Thanks.

The PFC Rotor and Hat assemblies are engineered to work together.

Thanks.

Does PFC have a High Performance Street pad as well as the track pads like the 01's and 06's for those of us with dual duty cars that switch pads track between track and street?

Yes, the 97 compound is used by many as a "dual duty"

Thanks

Thanks, but not sure if we crossed wires there in understanding. Not looking for a one pad fits all, but stick to using 01's at the track (I haven't used 06's yet, not sure what the difference is there), then off track putting something on that is more suitable for street driving where the temps wont get up there. I thought the 97's were technically a race pad also?

Besides my last question, just wanted to add that I am definitely on the list for a set if you can get enough interest and show of hands, and get them in to production.

There is a non 6-speeder I need to track down (I only see him at the track) that I think will be interested also..

My 2c guys, I personally think getting the bigger setups (calipers and rotors) sure would be great, but unless I was dedicating my car only for the track would I be considering that extra braking ability at the extra expense. On the other hand, I do track a fair bit and I am tired of tossing rotors out. The PFC option to me really is a no brainer, their equipment is right up there, great, track proven, race winning technology. The price is great considering replacement disc costs and longevity (someone can do the math when the switching out front OEM rotors every 5-7 track days compared to how these will hold up, at some point you hit a break even and all along you have gotten better brakes and more safety). I know the weight figures haven't been finalized yet but we know they are going to be lighter also, so more performance will be eeked out in that department also.

Fingers crossed and waiting anxiously!
