Exclamation Some early problems with my Turbo...

I picked up a 2001 Turbo with Tiptronic transmission and 70,000 miles a few weeks ago. It passed a PPI from Porsche but I've already had a couple problems (not sure if they are related).
The water temperature sensor doesn't appear to be working properly. After driving for many miles (should be at operating temperature) it will sit on the line between 100 and 180 and I know it should be closer to 180. A few times it has been up to 180 but it's rare. It has come up twice with 'failure indicator'.
Yesterday, on the highway I was going about 70 with cruise control on. I turned off cruise control and immediately got a check engine light which is still on today.
I filled up the coolant reservoir because it was below the minimum line but I didn't have to add very much and both problems remain. Also when driving about 65-70MPH with cruise control on (~2000RPM), my oil pressure sits on the 5 line. I'm not sure if that is normal but it seemed a little high to me.
The car itself seems to be running strong with no smoke, noises, or symptoms. If anyone could point me in the right direction it would be extremely appreciated.

Once you blow a check engine light, it will stay on until reset by a tech. You may have fixed your problem already and don't know it. As far as the actual problems, I can't add much. Good luck.

Any procedure to reset the CEL on my own? I assume disconnecting the battery cable long enough might do it. It definitely still has the water temp issue.

Get the Durametric scanner. You need to know what the problems actually are instead of guessing. You can also reste the CEL yourself.Trial and error does not work well on these cars. As fot the fluctuating temp. It may be a bad guage, sender or even a sticking thermostat

Get yourself a ODB II reader (my was like $60) and find out what code. You can also reset (clear) the code; but the car will learn from scratch again, however the flash would stay on the ECU (if the car had a flash).

If I take it to Advance Auto, where can I find the OBDII port to scan?

Under the steering wheel, above the fuse box...

If it doesn't get a connection, try holding it in there tighter...

As for CEL, I'd also say you should get the code read...but if it's not feeling different and the car drives well, you can probably disconnect batt and reset ECU...

Secondary air pump. It is used on startup to pump air into the exhaust to help emissions...
