Talking Yet another FLASH thread

I am so close to pulling the trigger on a flash...and I was zeroing in on the EPL because of all the rave reviews. My problem is, I live over 200 miles away from the nearest EPL Tuner, and my Turbo is my only car--so I can't really be without it by shipping the ECU to have it flashed......

Are there any flashes out there that I can install myself? There has to be a company that will write the flash and then email it to be installed via laptop and special cable...right? Anyone have any experience, positive or negative, with anything like this? Thanks to all my 6-speed brothers for your help

Just rent a car for a day while your ECU is being flashed. Tony sends it back the same day.

try looking at the OTHER flash threads like this one.

In short the answer is yes. I did not remove my EU for a tune.

I EPL flashed mine from afar. In hindsight, it's not very hard. At the time, the sequence of events as to getting things loaded properly seemed daunting.

Tony is patient and will get you through if you go this route. If I did it all over again, I'd have probably sent my ECU in.... but I'm stubborn.

I love my Softronic tune (Bought from Vivid Racing). It loaded in about 30 seconds. Piece of cake.

The flash part isn't that hard to do. I was with my dealer when he did it and it was really easy... I program computers for a living, so I may be biased...
