I rarely post in Forums anymore. 1 or 2 obtuse individuals can carry a thread to 7 pages in circles of inane posting. I support my clients through email or by phone and am availible 24/7 as some can attest. Your post did not upset me as much as it suprised me that someone affiliated with GIAC would be conducting themselves in this manner. I think you would be better served by discussing the merits of your product, than trying to find ****** in mine. most of these guys have been on multiple forums and understand the motivations behind a post. I could post links to GIAC socket failures, or GIAC equipped cars that suffered turbo failures and insinuate that the failures were do to excessive/overly agressive boost pressures. I would rather let my product speak for itself, and prefer to let my client base defend the product if they feel inclined to. The message is 100 times more effective coming from them than it would be from me. Every tuner will encounter problems occasionally, it's how they deal with them that matters in the end. We are not intersted in being known as the most powerful chip possible, we are intersted in having a reliable product that is acceptibly priced and offering the best customer support we can for the product.

I do agree with you that some post can get out of hand. If you recall I hardly find that my post was bashing your product, only the workmanship displayed and the lack of responsibly that has been taken by you or the individual that did that work. Mansour was the victim here, not me. I simply posted a picture of the work at hand and provided the facts. Nothing more. Things do happen, yes, but whether the questions are answered and whether a person takes responsibly makes the difference in customer service. The people that we have dealt with will contest to that price is not everything. Trust and piece of mind is not something that can be bought. I was an owner long before a tuner. Been down this road before.

No reason to continue this thread. It has been cluttered enough. If you would like to chat drop me a call or email. I am always around.

Time to clarify a few things...
I, like most people would rather spend $500 than $5000 on an ECU remap, especially since software is unfortunately a non-tangible thing and so you can not see where the 5K went until you floor it (wnereas everyone on the streets notices the 5K if you spend it on a Techart front or HREs)...I heard nothing but good things aboout the Upsolute and so I went ahead and bought it - with their money back guarantee this sounded like a no risk deal.
From day one it was unclear whether or not they have an X50 specific program. I sent out my ECU to an authorized installer and they went ahead and did the software...they were having some problems and had to e-mail HQ in Austria a few times (error compipling the code or something...) My main problem was that it was Friday and they had just finished my ECU...I wanted my car that weekend (the ECU was supposed to be ready a lot earlier) and so I suggested that instead of me driving the whole 120 miles they could meet me half way...seemed fair as it was their fault for nor finishing my ECU in the promised 24 hour time frame...I have nothing against Upsolute or my installer!! It just did not meet my expectations.
After putting ithe ECU back in the car I did notice a gain in power but the turbo lag was unacceptable to me!! Spool time increased a lot so although there is more power in the top end - my 0-60 times went down (launching after a red light). I called my local rep and told him about the problem and he was surprised because they never heard of any such complaint. He mentioned one case of such a problem but the cause was a leaky DV.
A few days after I got the Upsolute, my car had to go in for service and get a new tranny as it was the only fix for the 'popping out of second' problem...Neeedless to say, my car was in there for a while!! When I finally got it back, I had my guy check all the plumbing and make sure there were no leaks anywhere...There weren't!
I then sent my ECU to my local rep who reflashed it to stock (I had my files on a diskette) and told me that Upsolute would be in contact with me directly since refunds go through them not the local reps...I did not get a check in the mail yet or heard from anyone.
I think that for a stock TT with not many mods planned it might be the best value but for my needs it did not work.
I will have my GIAC level 4 dynoed this week (either tomorrow or Tuesday) and we'll see how that works. My power goal is to be at 650HP with modified K24s on 93 octane...
Rene - I have nothing against you or your company. I was just retelling my experience...

msindi,

If they have a money back policy for any reason that's their warranty and they should honor it. The Upsolute is about a 90 hp increase to about 505 fwhp total. The Stage IV is an approximate 185 hp increase to about 600 fwhp total. Big difference. The Upsolute may fair well against the stage 1,2 and maybe III, but it is not in the same league as the IV. Make sure the IV is what you want because I don't believe there would be much of a credit for trading in the stage IV on a stage V.
