The speedo we have is so over optimistic sometimes, it is rather annoying.
When doing say 190mph on the speedo the laser will be saying 178mph.
Does anyone know of a way of fixing this? Is there a fix for this?
I dont think there is a way of recalibrating the cars speedo?
all the best

I'm assuming this is on one of the RUF cars, and not the M5
. Do the two RUF cars have the RUF guage set? Either way, and I'm sure you've already thought of it, I would contact RUF. Good Luck.

All Porsche speedos read on the high side. I had the dealership update the software in my 99 C2 for the same problem and it still read a bit high. I did ask about the milage reading higher due to the error and I was assured that the milage is calculated correctly.
Updated software would be a good idea,
However i was thinking that perhaps if we swapped to 18's instead of the RUF 19's the speedo would be more accurate, however i think 18's would make the problem worse lol..
Thanks for the ideas guys

Mansour, the odometer runs off a completely different sensor than the speedometer, it doesn't record more mileage.
Adam, plus-sizing the wheels actually exaggerates the problem more. If you go from the 19s to say 17s, the speedometer will come back down nearer to your actual speed. At triple-digit speeds however, all speedometers read optimistic and the faster you go, the worst the problem gets.

manufacturers have a plus minus specification within a certain parmater. Some manufactures allow up to 10-14% of variance of actual speed versus show speed on actual gauge.
Just an FYI.

well it really depends on the overall circumference. If you keep it the same size while going from 18's to 19's it shouldn't change anything

correct?
essentially, what has the RUF crew told you to do? As was mentioned, most speedo's have a good amount of give and take when it comes to accuracy.
The only true way to tell is w/ GPS. I'm sure even the GT and Enzo aren't truely accurate on the speedo.
