Tranny Mounts/ Motor Mounts/ Brake duct pics

So today I put the car up in the air and swapped the factory 2001 tranny mount for the updated 997 model.

http://i145.photobucket.com/albums/r226/Mikelly_2006/Mike%20911%20Twin%20Turbo/5cf6af30.jpg

Notice the daylight around the upper and lower section of the old mount bushings?

Lack of light on the updated mount bushings.

Old vs. new mount - they look the same, except one has the old "stuff" sprayed on it from the factory, and the replacement is nice/shiney aluminum.

Swapping this mount is cake... You have the two chassis to brace nuts, two tranny mount to tranny bolts, and the black metal brace that has 4 nuts and two bolts. It took me less than 45 minutes to swap the tranny mount on my lift, including removing the bellypans.

Pics of the WEVO motor mount I'm installing below. swapping the black in to replace the blues. Someone asked in another thread, and the 12M bolt required should be 6 inches long.

Pics of three different sized brake ducts below... From left is the 997RSR, in the middle is the 997GT3, OEM 996TT duct on the far right.

Sorry guys, been busy... The new tranny part number replaces the 996TT number and is an "improvement" and looks to be... it is a direct swap. I bought mine from Pelicanparts.

MichaelRay, all three fit the 996TT, without issues.

A floor jack with a block of wood, 18MM socket for the nut on the underside, 13MM socket for the bolts on the top side, two bolts, one nut, you remove the airbox, unbolt the 13MM bolts and then unbolt the 18mm nut. However, do none of this before you jack up the motor with the block between the motor and the jack to keep the motor up against the subframe.

It's literally a 45 minute to one hour job with all the parts.

The trans mount is only slightly longer.

If you replace the rubber with purin the car will be more responsive however much more noisy as in you will hear all the clutch noise.

997-375-033-03-M100 for the trans mount...

Kwerks do a search on my user name and brake cooling duct and you should find it (It's in my shop and I dont have access at the moment). I did post it here though last summer or fall.

Drove the car tonight after swapping to the WEVO black mounts (and I'm reducing the length of that bolt to 130MM to get rid of a spacer I was previously using) and new tranny mount and interestingly enough an annoying squeek I couldn't diagnose before, well it's gone.

Also the shifting is much more precise. Very interesting.
