996TT - Does this seem like a fair bill for brake pads + install?

Being charged roughly $800 for factory front and rear brake pads + installation.. (also includes prob 30-40min of other minor labor)
i've enjoyed BMW zero maintenance so haven't paid for service in a while.. does this price sound about right?

I've just changed my front and rear rotors and pads front / rear for under $700 in parts - did it myself :-)
$800 for just pads front and rear sounds a little high - but from a Porsche dealer maybe to be expected.
Personally I always do my own brake jobs as they're so easy !

wasn't a dealer. local high end porsche tuner. front + rear pads + mount and balance rear tires.. $800 (including tax) just seemed a little much. ill scope out the breakdown when i pick it up tomorrow.
haven't had a free weekend in months otherwise would have done it myself. miss those days

I just paid about 600$ for pads (Pagid RS29 front and RS14 in back). Labour is about an hour to change all if you are well set up. My local Porsche dealer charges 100$ an hour.
800$ seems "reasonable"

Part of the deal with these cars when you take em to the dealer...if you dont have the know how to do it yourself you gotta pay top dollar. $100 dollars an hour is right. I always get the parts myself, at least that cost aspect i can control. Even then they still charge more for "miscellaneous shop supplies". Ridiculous.
what kind of pads? Stock or racing? As in previous posts, the bill sounds "reasonable" for what they did for you. The issue is, you can probably save some serious bucks just doing it yourself and you don't even need to be that mechanically inclined. I started working on my own car for regular stuff like pads, rotors, oil changes, etc once I started doing more DE since you go through all that stuff pretty quick plus it is good to know if you need to work on the car at the track. (The trigger event was when my dealer raped me on a new pair of front rotors and install - $960! Decided to do as much as I could myself from then on
). If a DD and you don't need to do that servicing very often, then may not be worth your time to DIY.

LOL like the use of water for the 10$ an hour employee to wash his hands after doing the job in 25 minutes?
