another ebay wing

another ebay wing, anyone have experience with this, seems very cheap so i assume there would be fitment issues but how hard do you think it would be to resolve the issues, would it just be some grinding and shimming, is it diy ? its so cheap i'm thinking of taking a punt on this just for a winter saturday project to relieve the boredom

I have something very similar if not the same. Not fitment issues- just that the gloss coat over the carbon fiber feels a little thin near the forward edge- but only something a perfectionist owner would spot. Otherwise happy with the money I saved.

I have the same one if not similar.... it hits my decklid, and the mounts don't line up perfect with the hydraulics... I do love how it looks though. I see it on my car as something temporary

i was thinking that i would paint it anyway so am not too worried about the finish, as long as fitment can be 'adjusted' by me fairly easily i think i'll give it a try

I can't be 100% sure without having it in front of me (so maybe 98%).....but I've spent a fair amount of time on these, not this particular seller, but they are avail from a number of (fairly credible) sources. They are not made in this country

A few things to keep in mind:
  1. If you are OK w/where the wing sits in the down position, pay no attention to #2
  2. I'm **** about the wing being all the way down (like OE)....this requires signif mod but is do-able...and looks very good if down all the way IMHO
  3. The dark CF 'cover' (on top of wing) tends to hide surface imperfections and irregularities
  4. If you paint to car color you should invest with a good body shop to 're-do' the surface if you are after the smooth and true surface you have w/OE
  5. I selected this wing because I like the contour and how it worked w/the body....cost had nothing to do w/it...I started w/a CF one and spent 3 times it's initial cost getting it right (10 times if you count my time ).
  6. The height of the trailing edge in the down position is actually about the same height as the OE wing in the up position....I have now disabled my rams....so it's always down......I'll eventually see how she feels on the track
Good luck if you choose to give it a try.

being that they are made in taiwan i'm obviously expecting some work to be involved, which in a way appeals to me as i will need something to do to get me through the miserable boston winter

i have a really good bodywork guy, i'm not sure how fussed i am about it being all the way down, i guess i need to see it mounted before making a decision

if you have a picture of yours mounted it would be great if you could post it up

$350....no way! It seems like a hell of a deal. Anyone with high speed stability issues? I'm sure this has to be a kock off from a Tuner Company. It looks great !

Thanks.... I have been at 180 mph with the wing, and no problems at all.

I have the same wing and as stated above, it does hit the decklid right above the brake light (due to the area above the brake light being raised). This ends up scratching the decklid and the underside of the wing... Also, as the wing lowers, it makes contact with the decklid before it completely lowers, so you can hear the hydraulics 'struggling' to completely lower. I've had mine for about a year now with no hydraulic problems, but I wouldn't be surprised if they end up damaging.

I would go ahead with it, really makes the car more aggressive. I guess everyone is so use to overpaying for aftermarket stuff made for P-Cars that this seems so cheap At this price!!!
