Light weight BAttery

What is the next lightest battery (more durable) for a daily driver after the Odessey PC 925 please ? I hace PC 925's in my Ferrari's which work fine but would like something a little more durable in my TT without too much weight

I'm getting ready to buy the Braille B14115. They also make a bracket kit for it too...11.5 lbs...

Light batteries are a pain, especially in Porsches.

Why? Have to charge all the time? Even if you set the alarm?

Yep. At least for the lightest ones, which most of which are made for 4 wheelers and recreational vehicles. Plus the cranking amps are pathetic. You'll have to live on the trickle charger.

Should be the ETX14, weighs 11.5lbs. Links should help: http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=2353060&page=1

http://www.planetporsche.net/cayman-...ery-track.html

I know Titan went with the ETX30 (21lbs) in their 996TT build.

The PC680 has been in my car for two years, zero issues. It weights 16lbs. I have a battery tender on her 24/7 and drive the car once a week.

^^^^ That's what I got, and if you don't have the tender on it 24/7 car will barely make it overnight. And it's one of the better batteries lb for lb.

Light weighters are very high maintenance. Best to keep a set of jumper cables and a bigger battery to hook them to if need be and to have a spare battery if it dies which has also been known to happen.

I went with the Sears battery for daily driveability. I travel a good amount and don't want to keep a trickle charger on the car but it still dropped 20 or 25 lbs off the weight of the OEM battery.
