Talk me back from the ledge....

I was able to drive an Elise.... and it's a blast. No there is no hyperdrive, but it is fun.

Thinking of trading off my 03TT for a leftover 08 supercharged Elise in British Racing Green. I think I'm confused and need positive / negative reinforcement.

It looks like you might be more of a track fan ....... if this is the case I can't think of a better car. Of course you should upgrade to an aftermarket supercharger.

I would keep the TT and trade the S2000 for the elise (plus some money I am sure).

My car before my GT700 996tt was an Elise. Great car, lots of fun, but not sure I'd give up the porsche for it.

It's very cool at first but after a while, I think you will wish it was a bit more comfy, and quite a bit faster. I still debate if one day I will get something like an Exige S...but not sure.

The Exige is a very capable track car, I know from trying to chase them done in the twisties. However, as soon as you get to the straight, you blow by them. Have to agree about trading the S2000. A local guy in an S2000 was recently killed at the track when his brakes failed.

The Evora would be a very tempting alternative to the 996TT.

Simple: Keep the Porsche, get rid of the S2000.

I have a buddy who has an Elise. He loves driving it in the twistys but I constantly hear one complaint, "I wish it had a lot more power."

My .02 cents.......don't do it unless you're sure of it or you'll succumb to buyers remorse.

I agree get a shifter cart, way cheaper and they're crazy fast.

I'm back off the ledge !!! (for now).

The fact that the S2000 has a few similar characteristics, makes the decision more of a lesson in the desires of pure handling and styling cues.

I've just made the TT as I want it. Fixed every minor flaw. Added power. I really don't know why I (and I'm sure many others) think this way. Once everything is perfect, on to the next conquest. Get your wallet out.

I'm just going to do my clutch this winter, and install the Evoms GT2 kit I have sitting around. DV's and a tiptronic/gt2 steering reservoir tank to eliminate the hydroboost hard lines.

Then wheels.... then seats.....red belts?.....Aerokit decklid.....
