Tranny Update...
Based on the wear and tear of the parts, I'm still on the fence over steel syncros. We're tossing it around. Christopher was kind enough to send me his mainshaft and parts, so that's that... I think new OEM shafts are running somewhere in the $1500 range. We are indeed doing an LSD.
The Fulcrom is already modified on the pressure plate that I bought from Clutchmasters and other than swapping the kevlar on the flywheel side of the clutch disc, I'm not changing the clutch configuration. It has held just fine over the last 18 months of heavy use in road course and street use.
I'm using the Steel Porsche 964RS OEM flywheel, which we've been using with this setup as well...This packaged is what I have been using and under close inspection of the components, all appears well and I have zero issues with the existing clutch/PP/FW provided by Clutchmasters, and under direct guidance from Kevin at UMW to my Indy, Lufteknic.

just for sake of knowledge what is the part cost of the main shaft and 1st n 2nd gear sets stock and different gearing?
are you doing brass or steel synchros?
LSD?
from some previous custom clutch design and pioneering i have in my past i think you will be happy with fibertuff on your clutch disk
it wouldn't hurt to have some clutch fulcrom (clamping force) discussions and maybe get you a bit more holding pressure so your not in the clutch again next season. what flywheel are you going to be usging ? steel/aluminum?

Yea, Larry, I think it was the wife seeing me go off track in the miata one to many times... She was like "I feel so much better about you in the turbo. It's a safer car!"
I'm sitting there laughing, thinking I'm never hitting 170MPH on the back straight at VIR in the Miata!

Best quote I've read in awhile... maybe if you took the wife for a ride she would understand!
Mike, main shaft and gears are in the mail, should be at your indy by end of week I'd imagine. Are you doing the GT2 master/slave conversion?
Btw, I am using the steel synchros, dont have enough miles to determine any differences, but I'm digging the 1st-3rd gear changes.
