997 shift kit

I just installed the 997 shifter in my 996. Very nice, economical and much needed mod. It was very easy to do the only problem was that I didn't know there was a screw under the coin holder that I didn't even know I had. Remember this and the allen screw under the shifter and everything should be pretty easy. Can't wait to drive it.

The 997 shifter into the 996 really cleans the throw up. It's a very nice bang-for-the-buck upgrade that improves the whole driving experience. Thanks for sharing.

Very interested in the price of the 997 short shifter and the ease (or lack of) doing the install.

I'll be selling mine when I get my car back... It's about 6 months old, and I have since shifted to a Porsche Motorsports shortshifter kit.

Probably be 2-3 weeks, but It will be available for half the cost of retail plus shipping.

I've got a B&M, I either need to adjust it or consider another. Just doesn't feel real solid. My Supra 6spd felt better

Boost controller tomorrow evening THEN I'll be looking to bang gears! If I cannot hit a good 2-3 shift then I'm going to have to do something - it seems to hang on the gate between 1-2 coming out of 3rd. I honestly don't trust B&M much but it was on the car. Handle feels hollow and light too! I know it's a linkage shifter so I didn't expect it to feel like my Miata or Supra but geez.

I will fiddle with it if I can find a good tutorial but if I cannot tighten it up then a 997 shifter may be the most economical way to go. I have a feeling Mike's choice of shifter will be too rich for me

Thanks!
