I am putting my 02' x50 in storage. I put stabilizer in the gas and topped off the tank. Put a battery tender on. Sprayed down all the leather with conditioner. Put 2 buckets of calcium cloride on the floor and a bucket in the capsule. Covered the car with a genuine Porsche custom cover and put the car in a car capsule. Now my question is there anything else I should do. I also took it into Porsche and had it checked over (coolant was checked for strength)

I asked the same of my service manager the other day. In addition to what you did, he told to me crank up the tire pressure to ~50psi to prevent flat spots over the winter. What's the calcium chloride for?

 

and fresh food n water for the little critters that will likely live in the bubble.

j/kin nah sounds like you have covered most bases but year get the tires off the floor

 

My next step would be to undo everything you've done, put a decent set of snow tires on it and drive like hell all winter.

Heck I bought my 996TT because I could drive it all winter. My Corvette was worthless. The 996TT is amazing in the winter.

it would also be a good idea to have fresh oil in the engine ....used oil becomes acidic as it ages and becomes polluted with traces of fuel etc....so you should dump the old oil and put new oil in it.....also, make sure you ran your car for at least 5 minutes so that the fuel stabilizer gets into your fuel lines as well (you probably already did that though)....

 

Calcium cloride is used to absorb moisture. That is all that is in those DAMP RID containers. I bought the capsule to keep ou the critters I was worried they would build nest in the intercooler ducts or the airbox. I think I will put some poison aroun the car.

 

Your car is tucked in better than I am, when I sleep. This could be a bonehead question, but would putting the car on jack stands prevent flat spots? I'm sure the springs on the car would be fine, but I wonder about the lubricated parts of the suspension as I type this. Just curious.

jack stands will keep the tires away from the concrete which is where the flat spots come from generally. and a little more air might help if it was on the ground all winter.

 

yes, consensus is to over inflate the tires...do not leave on jack stands as this will damage the suspension.
