I just posted this in the off topic lounge, but since it has to do with potentially saving you a decent amount of $ on auto insurance, i thought I would pass on my findings to those that dont frequent the off topic lounge.

First off, has/does anyone use(d) esurance for auto insurance coverage?

I just got a quote and was blown away with how cheap! They are a subsidiary of White Mountains Insurance which was listed as one of the top 5 best insurance companies.

Im currently paying 3500 annually for 2 cars and they chopped my bill by 1900, with basically the same coverage! I'll be paying for both what I paid for the turbo alone!

What's the catch!?!? I dont know...but I think Im going to say goodbye to statefarm!

They only offer coverage in 13 states, but it's worth checking out.

 

Interesting to see who's in the top 10 in the bad faith list. Wonder what the credibility of the website is, where they compile their data from, etc...

I ran my quotes and got about the same on both cars as I pay with Geico.

 

Stay away from cheap insurance companies.

My sister had her SL stolen and her cheap Pete insurance company did not pay for over one year. She only received payment after her second lawyer sued.

 

I doubt these 2 companies are on the same level as esurance is a subsidiary of White Mountains insurance company.

 

I have Chubb, and they definatly live up to thier ranking!!

 

ESURANCE ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!! I save 800 a year on my wifes 03 Discovery. The Cayenne and 996 are insured with USAA though....

 

Chubb is the best w/o question when it comes to coverage and adjustment after a loss, but you pay for it. Regarding that other insurance company, make sure it has an AM Best rating of at least A-.
