2005 porsche tt or nissan gt-r
Like someone said before, have you considered a F360 modena or a 2004 Gallardo for a little more? They both will be fantastic cars and will be much more fun than a 911 TT. 996tt is a boring car...its fast but that's not all that makes a great car.
Since you already have an italian mid engine car , not really sure what you are looking for? if your goal is a high hp street DD car..look no further 996tt ot 997tt fits the bill.

I thought the same thing about the Aston too
The build quality was amazing - the front grille is billet not plastic, little things like that really impressed me
Then the sales guy told me how fast it was and we went out for a drive
I was so underwhelmed.....gutless....nice car though

What is your criteria?
I think the Porsche would look great lined up next to the rest of the cars in your garage
The Porsche is more prestige in peoples eyes, The GTR is an ultra modern tech toy
Pros and Cons to both, just depends on what you want
My criteria when choosing a car is as follows....
I only buy cars which make me look back at them and smile when I leave them in the car park
Which car makes you take another look when you're walking out the dealership?

The GTR is an amazing peformance car in its own right, but paying as much as you pay for your Lambo to maintain it may not be what your looking for in a car that you plan on driving 7k-8k a year.

I guess that's why- I haven't pulled the trigger on a car 4 years newer and better technology than the Porsche. I drove an 07 997 Carrera S yesterday and came away pretty impressed as a DD. I'm still leaning toward the 996TT.
I think a GT3 or even a GT2 has "soul" but a Turbo lacks it to some extent. That has been my only gripe about the car. A full suspension overhaul and RWD conversion can change that though.
The big question is - How long do you intend to keep the car for?
I have never ever sold a car and hopefully never will
I bought my 996TT because in 20 years time it'll still be a Porsche 911 Turbo and that in itself will always be cool
The GTR is cool because it's modern, but it won't be modern forever. Will the appeal therefore wear off when newer technology emerges?
I have had my car for around two or three years now. I still go and sit in the garage sometimes because I just want to look at it
The appeal behind the Porsche is that it's a Porsche....and it always will be
The appeal behind the GTR is that it's modern, but it won't always be, so will the appeal may wear off with time?
People buy Hot Rods not because they're modern but because they're cool in their own right. I think 911 Turbos fall into this category too
If you like the GTR for reasons other than the technology then go for it, but don't buy it just because it's modern technology (unless you're not planning on keeping it for any length of time) as like a brand new computer it will be old hat in no time

I just can't LOVE the GT-R, no offense but it smaks of wannna-be to me.
Doesn't matter how fast or techno it is, it's not classic, never will be and seems like an entry from the team that knows more about family sedans than it does about performance cars with soul.
IMHO it's an 'also ran"
Just my two cents
