996TT vs. GTR
That's a pretty broad generalization...
There are a few here that have their opinions about it, some good, some bad. Some have some misinformation (or relayed other's misinformation) that spreads occasionally. But I'm confused as to how a stock GT-R could beat a highly modified 911tt w/Tiptronic, as well.

Back on topic...
Well, we ran some data logs and everything looks fine except for the shift points. Looks like his tip is shifting at 5800 which of course is too low. We might be in for a TCU flash to get that raised up. More to follow.

Getting the dyno to give a good reading without the car shifting is really hard. On the few tip cars i've seen on the dyno it has been hard to get an accurate idea of the power it was making.
I would say thats a very broad generalization. I know of at least a handful of people on this board alone that own both.
Very broad. I actually like the GT-R.
Now, I would always choose a Porsche over a GT-R in the same price range, but I would certainly love to have one in my dream garage.
Honestly, I don't understand how any real car guy could not appreciate the car for its performance capabilites. You may not like it, but it's still a great performer nonetheless.
Reminds me of the anti-Z06 sentiment that some people have because it's a Chevy....

Yet, neither are the 1st or 2nd car I want in my garage but that is just my opinion and taste. It has nothing to do w/ either being a great car.
It isn't necessarily the gearing, but there is less boost up there as well (when running from a stand still).
There is really a long boring explanation for this... But this is the main reason why so many users put the Cobb tune on their cars. It doesn't make that much 'more' power - it just 'fixes' the boost at higher speeds - to the way it should've been from the factory.
The gears are pretty evenly spaced 30, 60, 90, 120, 150, 195.

I think this isn't argumentative at all, but rather factual.
What is argumentative in this post?
Don't worry about it. It wasn't argumentative.
Just remember, thr rep-system on an internet car forum means absolutely nothing in real life.

My buddy Vince ran a GTR Cobb AP, X pipe with his Tiptronic Alpha car with me in it (180lbs), we pulled 5 cars on it easily. We have raced this GTR and others multiple times…same results. A stock GTR just falls flat at 100, Cobb AP improves it a bit but no match for a upgraded 996tt tip or 6 speed doesnt matter.

you sound like a JDM'r with a chip on his shoulder....
GTFOOH

I see great things in your future...
