996TT vs. GTR

For this thread to continue, please stay on topic. This isn't an argument about the aesthetics of the GT-R, the reliability of American sports cars, or how quick modified GT-Rs are. To prevent this thread from degenerating into another closed thread, please stay on topic...stock GT-R versus flashed/exhaust K16 996TT.
You don't get out much do you?

You did watch the whole second video where the M6 walked the modded GT-R didn't you? Walked it hard too, on the top end, a stage 2 Cobb GT-R with exhaust which is probably making 500 whp itself. Thanks for proving the point.

Actually these are great videos. The 535 hp porsche was a tip and the other 3 cars jumped while the dumbazz in the porsche was fiddling with his car. He jumped after the other cars were already 2 car lengths ahead and accelerating, yet he nearly caught the GTR and the Turbo. So if the jump would have been even, that tip turbo would have won. Great this proves the point perfectly.
The second video, the GTR gets walked by an NA V10 in a car that weighs 100 lbs more than the GTR.
Maybe you should have picked different videos
I have been on track with a few now... only ever had one guy that was pretty quick in one, but was still losing out on the corners... some are lightly modded and some heavily modded and I have no doubt in my mind these are quick cars especially out of the blocks... They will always have issues on track due to their size/weight, heard of someone who has had nothing but problems with the transmission (Zero will know him also)

However, for me, the car lacks the X factor that makes mastering a 911 so beguiling. I have no doubt that changing throwing 5k at my suspension (KW's, toe-links, dog bones, gt3 track arms & top mounts) would give me a car that I could track at speeds commensurate with most anything... thats what I love about the turbo... you can make it into whatever you want - track monster, as yours is, or road optimised, as mine is... or anything in-between !
All I know is every GTR thread goes for at least 5-10 pages, so lets keep this one going
The GTR is definitely a one lap wonder. That has already been shown. It is fragile but it is easy to drive fast. And I think it is perfect for the individual who can't drive, but wants to go fast
getting back to the subject. I think HC is right, that Turbo should have beaten the GTR, which means OP does not have the power he thinks he does.

I am having my car data logged (to make sure tune is correct) and maybe dynoed this week (will have front diff disabled). I will post the results.

Proof of fragility?
But I agree with your statement about individuals who can't drive... I can't drive, and I pass everything (I haven't been passed in quite some time now). It is quite fun...
How about a gearbox recall, a gearbox lawsuit lost, an engine recall to go along with the lots of gearbox failures and engine failures that prompted the recalls and the other people that have had to pay out of pocket for new transmissions (25k).
How about let's see a video of a GT-R without lots of cooling mods do 5-8 laps in a row at full speed without having to cool down or pit or have any warning lights on.....
That's not what I call rugged.
Now heavychevy, the GT-R salesman/manager/company man of some sorts is going to come back w/ his points of how this and that isn't fact or wasn't what every1 says it is.
So unless this gets back on track fast it will be closed like every other Porsche vs GT-R thread.

omfg... when the hell are they going to put on tv, the forums wars stuff,
this will stfu a lot of pp....i'm starting to lose my patience to tell everyone the results
I raced my k16's flashed against a stock gtr and a modded one ... i have lap times...pics,
but cant post anything
i hated the fact that i said i was from 6speedonline though, i later went and asked if they can
change my interview as i'm there to represent rennlist
, maybe its taking them a long time to piece that together
