996TT vs. GTR
That won't help because if you notice, one of the regularly banned trolls started that thread in the 997 forum posing as if he could actually buy one and that thread went for 10+ pages.
The GT-R forum was supposed to be the answer for all the trolls, but it never is. You can expect to see this character defending the GT-R in every thread where it's applicable.
You aren't allowed to have factitious or subjective opinions of the GT-R on a Porsche forums without the GT-R defender coming to the rescue.

For complete rotor/pad replacement - I was quoted about $6k for the whole thing.
Orrrrrrrr - because there is no warranty on brake pads and rotors, one could just get race pads for $500 for all 4 corners, and two sets of rotors for ~$2200 (usually people who track will do this anyway).
I think I figured out why all of these threads keep getting locked... Everytime something interesting comes up, somebody (inevitably) mentions it's looks, it's price, it's hp, it's weight, it's transmission (either good or bad), it's engine (either good or bad), the fact that it is made by Nissan, or one thousand unrelated topics, including stuff that just simply isn't true. I even heard that Nissan is charging $54k for a new clutch.
On other forums, I've engaged in many conversations about the GT-R and Porsche comparisons. Usually it's a lot of enthusiasts giving credit where credit is due. I was just on a thread with an amazingly fast Porsche. Not ONE person replied with - yeah, but why pay more for the same performance... or the small boot, or, or..., or.....? I've also followed some of the users here, and there are people that take the time almost every time the GT-R is mentioned who have nothing to say that adds to the conversation, but takes the time to say - "It's ugly" or "It's ugly, I prefer the 370z" etc...
Like the post I'm referring to - How does $7k for a brake job (even though a little high) have ANYTHING to do with the original topic?
Any you wonder why they keep going...
$7k for brakes? I wouldn't pay that either...

$54K clutch
Dam, the price of inflation
I know these things degrade whenever GTR is mentioned. Honestly, I think most P-car owners had more of an issue with the way Nissan tried to go about publicizing it's car than the car itself. I respect the GTR, it is a good machine.
Still, OP's car should have easily beaten the GTR with 500 whp

Agreed.

You can't stop it. You can't even slow it down. So why try?
^ I dunno... I've got nothing better to do?
I can't leave here, as this is still one of the best sources about the 911 (which I'm trying to get back into), among other cars.
*Edit: I'm not trying to change anyone's opinions about ANYTHING, I'm here to learn as much as the next guy. I'm a car enthusiast. And I have a hard time bad-mouthing any car. I don't think I've slammed any car here (except the M3 - but that was in jest). If there is something I can learn from - great! If someone knows something that I don't - please share... If you're just typing away without any knowledge (or at least educated guess), please stop. That goes for any car (or any subject) on any forum...

I agree that a 500whp TT can beat a stock GTR, but the OP's car is a heavy tip and doesn't make 500whp.
My car was 425awhp with those mods I'm gonna guess the GTR is right there too?
I may have a dyno of my car with his exact mods now that I think about. I think he's close to 465-485 (Dynojet) on his 16/16's.

Doh...I missed the "Hybrid" part...500 wheel is possible for a short time with enough boost.
On a tip though? Drive train loss goes up even from the AWD. I imagine a Tip is losing in the low-mid 20%.
