What is a complete 996tt motor worth?

The motor is rebuilt with new turbos complete with sensors and wire harness and ecu.

I'll have more details after I go to look at the motor. I was going to make an offer on it and wanted to see what it is worth before I do it.

I think common consensus is it is somewhere between $15k and $20k depending on miles conditon etc...Anything less than that should be a deal?

I didn't think they go for that much.

All depends on the quality of the rebuild....
Factory crate X50 was around $18k recently as I recalled reading.

The rebuilder doing the work could do factory level work, or they could be a hack doing just minimal work....

Yeah....as your benchmark, Suncoast had reman'd X-50's for 18 grand....no core charge AND with a full Porsche warranty

find out which parts from the old engine were re-used...

Is this the one in SLC? If so... I remember hearing about it. I think there is a story behind it.

Hey Tony! Actually it is Illinois. I am visiting my family here. How about after I take pics and get the paper work I get ahold of you first. I trust you more than anyone on this.

Good. The other one Im talking about was a "test" engine for Porsche USA. Its been dissembled and reassembled at least 20 times .

I started seeing complete, from ECU to exhaust, engines from low mile wrecks for about ~$10K.

be very careful with re-builds, I would rather have a stock low mile factory motor any day over a re-build. unless its from Porsche. good luck

Same here. You never really know and not to many shop can do a 996TT motor right.
