non sunroof conversion?
non sunroof conversion?
I am considering removing the roof/sunroof for either alum or CF version (weight and preventing sunroof blow out at very high speeds). I have already brainstormed needing a new headliner (996.555.091.06.A14 I believe).
Has anyone else done this? Any other required parts or gotchas to avoid?
thanks!

Are you building Texas Mile only car?
This happened to a board member here at The Mile this year. I think it was a bit over 200mph when it caved in. That would be enough for me to require a change of clothing.
That is crazy! I have never heard of anything like that. You would think a plastic front bumper would rip to shreds before a metal track bends enough for a sunroof to cave in.

bet it is! can we see pics? is there a lining on the interior?
This made me lol
. Off topic, but a friends targa top on his vette came off once while racing a bike and nearly decapitated the biker... his response was "Well, if he hadn't been losing it wouldnt have hit him"... obviously said tongue-in-cheek...ok, back on point.
It was Joetwint's car and I thought it had caved in because ross perot was a passenger and created a deep sucking sound from the south, caving in the sunroof.
