Angry Check Engine Light!?!?!?

I posted about a week ago that my CE light came on ... CJV suggested that I had turned the car on too quickly and the kats hadn't warmed up in time ... this was true but I never had a chance to tell the service mechanic what to do. Anyway, this turned out for the better, since he couldn't get the darn light to turn off, he tore apart my car and found a vacuum leak that goes to one of the turbo's and fixed it .... the light went off and then after about a minute came right back on ... ... so now the service rep is telling me since I have put on an after market exhaust (Europipe re-wrapped as ROOCK) and I have 100 cell kats, which I don't ... the CE light stays on ...

Does anyone know what to do, the mechanic is stumped? Does this maybe have to do with my UPSOLUTE chip? I'm picking up the car today and was wondering if I had an answer for them or if it's something I can remedy myself via disconnecting the neg. battery etc....?

Thankx,
Dario

Same thing..

Mine was in for the exact same thing. I split a vacume tube.

Try unpluging your battery from the car and leave it unplugged over night. Then when starting the car in the morning leave it running idle for about 10 minutes. This worked for me.

Well ... good news is that the CE light is off ...

Bad news is that when I'm pushing on the gas W.O.T. the RPM's are nice and smooth and at continuous speed up until I hit about 3500 rpm then it's as if the needle goes double speed just a bit past 5000 rpm stops goes down to 4700 rpm then re-continues to climb up until I shift gear??????? I feel just a slight diff. in acceleration but not noticeable, the needle doing all the goofy stuff is very noticeable ... anyone? I called my mechanic and he said it might be the air flow sensors mis-timing or something based on my description??

thanx,
Dario

No my abs light is not coming on and yes it does feel like my clutch is slipping ... hmmm? it wasn't doing this before I took the car in for service. (got a call from a girlfriend of mine who swears up and down she saw my car Saturday night at her apt. complex, same rims and roll cage..no joke..she had called me at 4am I was already asleep..it was gone in the morning) It only slips when I push on the throttle hard and at any range of RPM ... so it slips then drops back down and then goes up again ... if it's slipping ... is clutch under warranty?

Thanks for all the input ... I was beginning to think that if I hadn't asked abour rims, or aerokits, or stereo systems I wasn't going go get a response...

I hope this is not due to Upsolute as I just had it installed about 5 minutes ago...pending no problems the power increase is great!

Power increase is great....try getting a refund from them and then you'll see their "great" (sarcasm intended) customer service....

MJC ...

It was due to a leak or a tear in a vacuum tube not the UPSOLUTE which has been fantastic so far ... my car is getting a performance clutch put in right now ... I notice you're in Dallas also? drop me a PM ..

Dario

this is the second time a vacuum tube has split, are there stronger after market tubes???
