I'm only on k16's as well ( for now), although I think some damage was started when it was on the dyno as its 3rd gear that is used for all the pulls.

Frank is strange that you have this problems with your tip, here are some guys with more power that you and they don't have any problems!

For example MY996TT has the EVOMs GT660+TCU upgrade and no problems, others have the k24 + ecu and still no problems, so you better change the oil in yours and check it.

Hi Alex,
Yes, I have been reading a lot about tranny oil and filter change. Ye know I might just do this first.
I recon 550 ft/lbs should have been well in the safe area for the box??
BUT..... I cant stand still with power. I will some day be going down Kens route.
My Cayenne Turbo had 600 bhp before I sold it. I cant help it its a drug.

you must change the oil!

550ft/lbs= ~744Nm, my tuner said that the flash increased my torque to 701nm + the cargraphic exhaust w/o cats so 20nm that means 720Nm but this is not something 100% accurate...

This was the stage 1 tune dyno graph, since then I have fitted Miltek 100 cell sports exhaust and a revo stage 2 tune. I dont think there will be much more TQ but perhaps another 50 hp.
Oil is going to be the next thing to do. Do you really think old oil ( 50,000 miles) will make a big difference??

When I changed the trans oil I noticed better number for my 60-130 times. Heat is the killer. It would be nice to have a tranny cooler and a gauge to keep an eye on temps. Something like a PLX unit that can be preset to give you a warning signal if temps get too hot and a read out to tell when temps are warm enough to do hard launches. My theory is that this tranny can hold much more torque if temps are in check. Viscosity and temperature has an inverse relationship when it comes to oil.

What about the standard tip cooler, can it be made more effective? Remote switching it to "cool" earlier etc etc ????
How effective is the standard Tip cooler?? Possibility of larger unit or a secondary remote.

I would like to know what the optimal temp range is for our ATF. Then measure the temps of the ATF with different driving conditions and power levels to see at what point the stock unit is no longer sufficient in preventing the break down of the ATF. If someone had a secondary trans cooler that works I would love to purchase it.

This could be a very interesting project. I am very interested.
I wonder how hard it would be to regularly check the ATF temp whilst driving?? Modded level plug to allow a digital temp probe ??Etc

Cheers Alex,

I have to say, who would have thought temperature would have such an impact on ATF.
I must change my oil if its not too late already.
Sh*t....................
Thanks again
Frank

I don't, but it is beautiful. Personally, I believe the price is unrealistic, as mods just don't bring back their value. I got badly burned on an 01 C5 when I sold it.
