Rear intake pipe for tip car???

I have been looking for an affordable solution for a rear intake pipe. Evoms will not fit and is not flexable and FVD is over 2K! Anyone have another solution?

Thanks,

Vince

Why doesn't it fit a Tip? I didn't see any mention of that on their page.

I just picked up a stack of 45 and 90 degree aluminum bends. After a quick Google search, I must confess, it will look a great deal like their prototype piece...

Yep, NO one makes a piping kit for a tip. We custom made mine.

That sounds like a good excuse for some before and after dyno runs...

So basically buy the evoms version for the 6speed and then hack it up?

I made my own for $300 with hard piping. If you're willing to hack the rear plenum, weld on a fitting for the driver's side and attach heavy duty ducting, you could have something similar to FVD's for a sixth of the price. The hardpiping option may be tough with the tip in there.

Which intake are you talking about?

Does anyone have a link explaining the different intake systems of the car? I see people getting after-market intercooler piping, plenum/TB, y-pipe...is the one ya'll are talking about different?

Thanks!

Todd was talking about the one goes behind the engine. The OEM one is really ugly looking with a lot of twists. They custom made one and I remember he posted pics on this board... do a search.

We did that and the tip doesn't dyno well at all. But I gained a few tenths on my 60-130 times with this mod, Plenum and TB.

What's the problem with the Tip fitment? The oil cooler on the drivers side?

You have an airbox that feeds air into an aluminum plenum, from there, 2 really ugly hoses/ducts route air down behind the engine between the engine and firewall to each turbo on each side of the engine. From the turbo, air is compressed up 2 rubber hoses to the intercooler (the hoses by the back tires that you can see) and then through the 2 rubber hoses you see in your engine bay to the aluminum Y pipe to the throttle body.
