Ok i found another solution. Got a new guy that does light mods for me he is very sharp! What do you guys think of maybe sending in your tail lights to get tinting done and also converting the lighting to a full LED grid? seems like were not gonna see aftermarket tails for a while yet. So hes gonna try it on mine. We are going to get custom LED board made that will sit against the tail light lens with a full grid of leds. We may also try to sand the texture off of my light to get a clear lens as well. Let me know what you guys think hes taking my tails tomorrow to get started.

Not a bad idea but buying and sending in cores would be easier. I would be interested in what is the turn-around time would be.

o i know, i intend on getting a couple sets of extra lights. I will also be getting the 997 Turn signals. Maybe a set of 996 head lights too if enough interest is gained.

acs-e36 is infamous around these parts
i would only pay that much if fit and finish was to OEM or better and would garantee zero failure.

Is our LED tail light getting nowhere to come to a conclusion?

Looks that way, no updates on any custom tail lights. Maybe they just abandoned the idea all together.

it simply makes no financial sense to develop them at the present time.

risk is too high + potential customers too small >>>> price too high = don't produce

I still think someone can customize a set for their own use.
