As I am reading this post, there is a sponsor link on this website that has led's for our car. Does anyone look at the sponsors on the top and bottom of the pages? The picture on the ad shows taillights. Since I'm not familiar with the posting rules, I wont post the name, but its right below this box as I type.

I see an ad for Google right under your posting.

Which sponsor has these tail lights? I'd love to have a look!

So I talked to a friend who does LED work and asked about the numbers we'll need. He confirmed my suspicion that the Chinese mfgs will laugh at 1000 (not to mention 42) pieces.

It's possible that we can get these made right here in the USA...however based on the low run# and higher costs of domestic production - price WILL be higher.

My friend is kinda interested in the project, I'm considering taking this project on - but need to know

A) who still wants these at $1500/pair

B) who is ready to put a 50% deposit down to make it happen?

C) anybody else interested in helping make this a reality?

As i am reading your post I am shaking my head, do you (who joined in 2010) really believe that if a sponsor of all people offered these to the 6speed forum community the OG guys would hop on it, furthermore would this even be an existing thread?

Does anyone know if the c4 and turbo share the same light? I have a friend in the import and export business who claims he has seen c4 led tail lights. Following is from his supplier:

FITMENT:99-04 PORSCHE 911 CARRERA 996
99-04 PORSCHE 911 CARRERA 4
COUPE 2 DOOR / CABRIOLET 2 DOOR
DESCRIPTION:1.S.A.E (Society of Antomotive) / D.O.T (Department of Transportation)
approved and 100% street legal
2.Made by OEM manufacturers with quality meet or exceed OEM standards
3.All wiring was preassembled for essential plug and play application
4.Led light bulbs are included with one year warranty
Will Not Fit "S"Model from 02-05

Since I am new to the Porsche world, is the S model equal to the turbo wide body?

Scott

Based on the "hey i saw these LEDS already, what gives posts" - I can only surmise that the new(er) posters just arent that steeped in Porsche lore and lingo.

In the spirit of helping out, methinks that a bit of clarification is in order.

To the above poster...

nota bene:

C4 is still a NB (narrow body) car. IN the 996 series - the C4S, Turbo and GT2 are the Widebody cars - all the others (C2, C4, GT3) are NB cars.

The LED lights that you see out there are for the NB cars - not the WB ones. There were way more NB cars produced than the WB - hence the availability of EB parts!

However, the subject of the this thread is concerning getting this mod made for our WB 996s.

The subject of tyhj
