Couple hundred is a pretty short order considering we have 20% of that since the list was created a week ago. As outlets for retail- there are 4 other active U.S. based porsche forums that I know of, ebay for the non-forum crowd, tuning shops (vivid, sharky, ect.) and retail shops (performance parts) that would probably buy a multiple sets to market, and then the ENTIRE rest of the world of Porsche owners.

Seems like a no-brainer to me. Hopefully they run with it.

Wondering how many pairs of LEDs we need to place. I am assuming that these will be ordered in China ? Maybe it will be a good idea to post up a thread on rennlist and organize some type of deposit so that these get produced accordingly.
I travel to China / Indonesia quite often and know we can prob get this knocked out in about 2-3 months (not including shipping).
The prototype will certainly have to be installed and checked for prelim issues.
Here is an example i came up w/.
ie: if $30,000 rmb (mold fee)
& 1 usd = 6.64 rmb
=4518 usd.
if 100 sets...
then it would be $45.18 per set for that mold fee.
if $60,000 mold then per set would be $90.36.
Obviously there needs to be 2 molds. One right light and One left. So double that to $180.72.
There are some other factors such a QC & R&D, but these shouldn't cost nearly as much as the initial mold fee.

To be honest, I would need a set that looked better than those that are being made for the 997. I'd be happy to pay $1K for something that looked close to the OEM light. On the side by side shots, though, the aftermarkets clearly look "aftermarket" when the lights are on. (for lack of a better word) They look great when the lights are off, though.

This list is for serious buyers only! I say that we forty ante up and get this thing rolling. I dare say that we can all contribute to make 200, then sell the rest and make some money!

Any lawyers in here to draw up an agreement? If we each put up some extra $$$$, we can get our LEDs made NOW, then recoup our investment over time - as everybody gets to see how awesome they look (minus Seth).

I gotta admit, you guys really impressed me and all stepped up. I think we have a chance to really do something special here...
