If I am going to do the labor I am going with my fat 5 inch proto coolers, or Marks 4.5 inchers.

Here is a CAD/flow bench/pton IC designed, built and tested back in 2003. Unfortunately they we no longer handle KA's new requirements. We require larger cores and tubing size, however the new IC's will follow the same tank principles and they will be coated.

Note the reduction incorporated for the last few rows, the vacuum principle along with the smooth reduced curve transition associated. Also note how they transition from the center to the outside along the width ..... all in the name of forcing air equally to all IC tubes. If you want to learn more about these principles read A. Graham Bell's book Forced Induction Tuning. There is a section dedicated to IC principle's that is a very good read.

Good news, they fit on the car and all the factory hookups are good. 1 of the 4 end tank pins can't be used but its still rock solid. One tab has to be bent ever so slightly to keep from resting on the outlet tank.

On to the ducting...

Getting there -good ducting can make or break an IC, so I tried to seal it up tight, just like stock. Not too bad of a job but it takes a little time. If you've got the skills to remove the intercoolers in the first place, you should be able to tackle the duct mods with a trip to Lowes.

Pete, NCturbo,

PNs are 99711063970 & 99711064070 (not sure if you were asking for PNs for something else, but everything else is factory 996)

now to see if the bumper goes back on and if this cooler does anything

A comment, QUESTION for those in the know in ref to IC's.

No one has brought up the fact that these are Tube/Fin IC's not Bar/Plate. Everyone always talks about the fact that Bar/Plate is much better than Tube/fin for equal size. So why does porsche install Tube/Fin on it's $150k Turbo and 250k GT2RS, when the bar/plate is so much better? I can quote so many references in previous threads where tuners/builders in here state bar/plate is better.

So what is the real deal....?
