I had H&R (15mm) and some off brand from Ebay (12mm & 9mm); they don't feel any difference to me; and I have been running those off brand pretty hard too. I believe as long as the lugs are long enough, you should be fine.

how do you determine the right lug nut length?

When I bought the 15mms, I bought a set of lugs from Vivid (don't know how long). I have been using them for 12mm and 9mm also. I tried using the OEM lugs with the 9mm and they were too short. So unless you are running 3mm, I suggest you should get longer sets. PM Vivid of what you need.

Standard lugs have a 29mm shank. So, whatever size spacer you add you need to add at least the same amount in your bolts. I have 7mm front spacers with 38mm bolts, and 15mm rear spacers with 45mm bolts.

I have the true porsche spacers on my car and they work differently than what others are stating here. My spacers bolt on with the original wheel lug bolts. Then you have studs sticking out of the spacers which you attach aftermarket lug nuts to. This system is solid, the only disadvantage is the extra weight from an extra set of nuts.

I had those that came with my OEM Techno wheels; they came with a 17mm (i think) hubcentric spacers since those wheels weren't really meant for turbos.

Those hubcentrics wouldn't work with my HREs (had vibration) and the normal (just a plate) kind worked just fine.

mine are 15mm rears, no fronts. It basically gives the stock wheelset the GT2 look.

I think the Techno wheels come in +63 offset and a 17mm would bring it to +46, which still doesn't look good.
