Softronic Tune Install

I installed the Softronic tune today. Softronic turned the files around in 48 hours. After reading the instructions, with all the warnings that if I make any mistake during the install my ECU would be fried, I was a bit hesistant to DYI this. If you follow the instructions to the letter you wouldn't have a problem. Took all of 10 minutes. Made my laptop work real hard though. Got a screen pop up that my CPU was under high usage. Took it out for a quick spin and you can feel the difference especially in the midrange. Boost comes on faster and more evenly. Didn't have a chance to really flog it, but that comes this weekend. So far no CEL's. You really can't tell it's been done until you get on it. Nice part is they send you back your original tune file and you can change back and forth anytime (like at smog check time). Next up: DV's, F-hose, Wevo motor mounts, 997 short shift and 997 tranny mount as the budget allows. I'm getting more confident that this car, although hard to DYI many things, is not as hard as it looks. Thanks to Vivid and Softronic for the support and clear instructions.

bludemon is infamous around these parts
I did my install recently and am also pretty happy with it. Good support and a breeze to install. Boost holds steady at 1.1 bar. Best bang for the buck thus far!

If the DV's or hoses don't go first. We are stuck with 91 craptane out here so I don't think I'll be making the power you can with 93. I can get pump 100 octane at only gas station here and it's $10 bucks a gallon.

I see you have an X50. Any plans to upgrade the wastegates to go with the flash? Do you have an exhaust?

Yeah, between the ST tune and the exhaust, mine DOES NOT pass emissions here in CO. I have to flash it back to stock and then take the car out for about 1/2 hour and bake the exhaust. Then it will pass.

When I get home, just re-flash the tune back on and set to go. Once you've done it a few times, you can get through it really fast and with no nerves about hurting the ECU.

Congrats and have fun!
