GT2 stock to 600hp

Still a bit confused on what each mod adds in hp. First exhaust, 20-30 hp, Europipe vs. X-pipe system. Next tune for 50-70 hp? So theoretically would be near 550 bhp. How do you get the next 50 hp? Headers would give maybe 10 hp? What else besides the safety stuff like upgraded dv's, maf and silicon boost hoses?

Another question: What is the difference between the 996 turbo aftermarket headers? See prices at $1200 for AP, $1800 for Switzer, then $3k for EVO?

DOnt add numbers like that.. you will be disappointed...
I would do an exhaust, k24 billet wheel conversion, a 5 bar fuel pressure regulator, and a decent pump gas 1.2 bar tune.. that will give you 600 hp...
K24 turbos will not do it at 1 bar with a tune and exhaust...

So what is the most you can get out of GT2 without changing the turbos? Would rather not mess with the turbos to protect the cars value. Basically just looking to hit 11.4 1/4 mile times at 127 mph, and or 0-100 mph around 7.5 seconds.

You keep the turbos... no one even would know you have them hybrided...
its internal... outside its the same...

if you want to hit 11.4 at 127 you need a real nice dyno curve at 560 whp...
K24s will not do it. They usually do 123/ 124... K24 billets do 127 to 130...

So either settle with what you have and call it a day otherwise your reaching a bit high with what you have...

Basically Going by R&T's tests, a stock GT2 would stay with a ZO6 up until 120mph, depending on the drivers:

http://www.roadandtrack.com/content/...1-GT2_data.pdf

http://www.roadandtrack.com/content/...Turbo_data.pdf

Looks like the R&T tester shifted the GT2 early into 4th gear before 100mph, hence the 1.8 second time from 90-100.

So what are the 1/4 mile expected times and mph for a Stage IV tuned GT2 with exhaust? Seems like you don't even improve much for $10k, not even a 1/2 a second?

forget the magazines...
my point is you will not improve a half a second with an exhaust and tune... well you wll run 11.7 but not 11.4... and you will trap 123 not 127...
tire selection, driving, etc all matters of course...

have you wondered why only 2 996s in the world ran a 9 sec. run? and those cars have 1200 hp... BTW, look at my sig. below you will see my car is one of them...
Its not as easy as just adding a few bling parts and expect to run fast... trust me I made that mistake but it cost me $30 K...

Mag tests will leave you frustrated, you could trap 125 with k24 tune and exhaust. After that, you need lots of supporting mods like meth etc or upgraded turbos as mentioned before. Turbo swaps are nothimg, you wont devalue the car at all, and you can always go back to stock.

I have never wondered about the < 10 second cars. Not my thing. Just curious about all the claims of 590-600 bhp for a Stage IV tune, and what it will actually do in performance times, other than butt dyno claims. I fully understand we are talking about a 2 wheel drive car, with street tires. DCT equipped cars with AWD will always be faster with the same hp and weight numbers.

So are you guessing this car that ran 11.0 had hybrid turbos?

stage 4 tunes are all different... one tuner will offer exhaust, headers, tune, filter, dvs, some sort of hybrid, meanwhile the other will offer k24s with an exhaust and tune.. etc... stage 4 means nothing now a days unless your refer to what is included in kit...
your car is lighter by almost 400 lbs... thats hp at the track...

we offer a tune for k24s.. then a free upgrade if you do the hybrids.. you can always move up... but an exhaust is required...

unless you look inside you cant tell its after market hybrid k24...

I am referring to this kit for example, claiming 600 bhp:

http://www.sharkwerks.com/products.php?pid=130

My car hasn't even arrived yet, will leave Braman supposedly on Tuesday, then be in transit for 2-3 weeks to Washington State. Just trying to learn as much as I can before it shows up.

thats Marios car from Maryland.. my client

he drives good... and was at a great track ... I think the temps were low too..
his car just had k24s at the time with exhaust and flash...
But I have never seen anyone else reproduce it...
He now has my bigger kit on that car... and it blows the other set up away..

So do you want to retract your statement that a K24 equipped car won't trap 129? . See 2 posts above for kit I am referring to.

No I do not... there are a handful of cars that do highly unlikely times.. that is one of them... all with different set ups.. some cars do blistering 60 to 130s on k24/18s meanwhile all other set ups do 1 second slower if not more..
taking one car and saying they all will do it not right.. so when I go answer these questions Im not looking at one of them .. Im looking at the average...
you should too...
Yes I saw that post.. its not my kit.. can't comment on it... I can only tell you as I did what I would do if I were you...
Mind you my K24/ 18g kit from 3 years back with just a 5 bar FPR, catless exhaust, and a few other minor chinese bolt ons the client put on himself ran 10.8s all day long and trapped low 130s... NO ONE has even come close in a similar set up to do the same with similar power adders.. I don't go on selling that kit stating that it will trap low 130s and run 10s... I don't even bring it up to clients if I don't have to because I do not want to give them false hope...
