Angry Off topic abay rant

I hate it when ebay sellers create aliases or get their buddies to bid on things to manipulate the prices on ebay listings. It is soo easy to tell when it is hapening when the bidder has 100% biding activity with the seller and a feedback score of 90 that is clearly listed in the feedback info. It isn't that difficult to have a shred of integrity.

I am not saying whether it is right or not, but even at public auctions people sometimes have what is known as a "straw" in the bidding audience, a secret friend/associate to drive up the price.

Bid in the last 15 seconds, don't do bids with reserves, they will just be bid up, I love bidding late, won a ton of stuff cheap with that tactic. If lose an auction, but then get offered a 2nd chance, high probability it was bid up, because winner was one of the seller's buddies.

You have NO IDEA how corrupt ebay is...

from shill bidding/ bid manipulation to falsified feedback/ manipulation.

Ebay hides bidder IDs to make it so simple to screw buyers...and why?

Simple, their fiduciary duty is to the SELLER...the buyer is on their own, ebay only works for the seller.

I rarely use ebay any more...

That was the biggest issue that I had with eBay no longer allowing me to see who was bidding on what. So funny that you mention that. Right there with you.

Right there with you. If I buy something on Ebay. I place ONE bid in the final 5 seconds that is the highest bid I would be willing to pay. Gotten tons of stuff at great prices that way.

Yep...I agree...I ONLY buy small things IF they have a "Buy it Now". Other than that, I only use eBay as a litmus test for the market and what people are actually willing to pay for stuff...as it IS an auction...ableit a crappy one...

+1.

It has become quite a manipulative site. I'll never trust it with anything over $100.
