i think oiled filters and cut airbox and are ( or should be ) at the top of any "what for?" list. just isn't worth "it".
I've put 18+k miles on my BMC filter that I wash and re-oil regularly. Same MAF. I think some of the issue is how much oil is put on the filter. I've even used K&N spray oil the last few times because I had it left over from another car.

I had always thought 16G or billet K16 would have been a great upgrade- am I missing something or is it about what you get for the money (ROI)?

Flash/exhaust/pss9/GT3 seats/rollbar are mine.

You joined a month ago. How can you make such a claim?

We have real world testing around here. If something doesn't work, you'll hear about it.

Let's hear your list of what works and doesn't work on your 996TT.

Or is your experience based solely on your Civic?

I'm not calling anyone out, just making an observation. This should be a good thread. You should add "type/design" of exhaust too. I'm very convinced there is some snake oil there.

I was thinking the same thing. These look like a great option to get better power without the increased lag of a larger turbo...Are they really that much of a waste?
If so I'm glad I read this because I was considering them!

i agree, but i'm undecided. i'm either gonna get a new bmc pre oiled. or go back to paper. never had issues with my previous car and stock box/filter.
now i want to buy maf's in bulk

i just took my filter out while messing around and didn't have time ( or the kit ) to clean it properly, and man... paper's looking pretty good right about now.

but thanks for the input. i haven't given up on bmc... just yet.

Are you doing that track day in reno inferno in Oct ; )
Post on rennlist ?
It will be my first time there, I'm going to ask Daren as well.
Its suppose to be 1-3 days of pure glory. No sound restrictions.
A beautiful track from what I see, and lots of GT3's to play with.
You should come out and play.

Don't be narrow minded. Just because i joined 1month ago doesn't mean i don't have experience.

You clearly missed the point. I'm not comparing two cars rather than the difference in how people share information about these cars. It seems this forum has a lot of " black magic" vrs real world data, thats all.

And i think the last time i checked, this was a free forum where you can discuss and share opinions, guess i was wrong. Sorry if i offended you

IMO, technically all mods are waste of money; however, I don't regret any of my mods because they were my choices. Each mod has its own use and purpose; for example, K16 Billet may fit perfectly for someone's driving style but not for others. I think the OP is very narrow minded for starting this thread.

Well, i think the OP has/had good intent but mods are subjective. Also, i think you can't look at each mod as an end all. They have to work together as a system. You can't expect to change one thing that supports "x" amount of something and have it work perfectly with the original system. Its like porting the heads and not using the right cams. Then again, i only joined a month ago so, what do i know..

I'm not offended. But if you have an opinion, please be prepared to back it up with facts. I'm defending this forum as you seem to have 6Speed confused with another forum. So, enlighten us on the Black Magic that there is "a lot" of around here. Those who spew BS don't last long here.

There is a huge thread of REAL WORLD DATA here (not a list of irrelevant dyno numbers): https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...le-thread.html
