Timing is reserved for tuners... but when someone is running a EBC then we need to tell them where to stop... some tuners especially Euro do not run any timing because their clients run on Autobahns... here in the states we run 2nd thru 4th gears usually... thus we can run more timing... that is another reason why German programs seem smoother, less aggressive, and almost like stock.. Heck one known Euro tuner charged $3500 for a flash and nothing but the rev limiter was changed... we run almost stock timing between 4 and 6K at 1.2 bar... As a mater of fact a 18g with injectors at 1.2 bar will pull stock timing.. so go figure...

Mark, once you pass peak torque, you don't start to bring in more timing until redline? Depending on where peak torque is, on other motors, we use to add more timing and in some cases, we have had huge gains with a lot of timing near redline.

I can imagine it's even worse with a full GT2 rear. I am looking to get some dive planes made for the front because I don't want to get the GT2 front right now to give the front some extra downforce. I was also debating switching out the gt2 wingblade but I haven't found a replacement wingblade I liked yet over it.

hence a reason not to do the add on gt2 wingblade, do the entire thing or do nothing at all.

I do disagree with some of what you are saying. The good news is, its ok! I feel that there still are things that are not clear but, thats fine.

If you want an examples, how is it that people are still asking,
1. how well does IPD plenum work?
2. gt2rs IC's work vrs aftermarket?
3. Air intakes in the IC ducting.
4. which airfilter is the best?
5. which fuel pump setup is best
6. what injector sizes for e85
7 tire pressures
8. rim sizes
9. "x" flow exhausts or non "x" flow exhausts
10. drone or no drone

And that was a short list of topics over the last page or two.

To be honest, the standard "search, we talked about this already", is boring. Searching and spending hours sifting through nonsense threads like this, make me feel it is a bigger waste than just asking.

I mean really, if everone who can't understand what i'm asking for just followed the OP's request to answer " mods, good vrs bad", instead of disproving me, this could have been a good thread.

As I see it, there are lots of threads that have a tiny bit of good information. It is hard to get it all in one good place. It seems the people who decide to ship there engine to "x" tuner and then post a fast 60-130 time are the kings when in reality, they either don't even know enough about what their tuner did to share or don't want to share their secrets. If it is the later, i completely understand. I have a feeling though, it is really that they just don't know so, they don't share.

For the record, I am not picking on anyone. Even the people who disagree are fine with me. This is a healthy debate and I enjoy it. It is clear to me that, I will have to just stop asking questions and just enjoy what is already written. I will however promise to share all or any of my findings.
I hear you evil, I can not argue with you on anything but the order you listed things... and every thread should have "best" in it.

Hmm... did you just say you need to blow up a motor to find out where it makes the most power? there you go again.

HI, Lots of good choices out there...Depends on what kind of sound, loudness, you want and future mods you are going to do.
Do yourself a favor and do a search.
I have had a few systems through my stages.
I really like my Milltek for that not look at me loudness with excellent power..
Good Luck..

SpeedTech or 911tuning are 2 great options.
