Help Please!! My 2001 996TT refuse to take fuel!!
Yes,
Warranty coverage in California on emission control is 7 years 70,000 miles which ever come first. What I don't like about dealer services is that they just go by the book and start replacing what ever they think it has to do or related to the problem. Case and point, a few year back, I had the key ignition malfunction (when you turn the key you have to manually turn it back after the car started). I brought it in to the Auth. Dealer and they wanted to replace the entire steering control arm estimated at $1600. I did my search and ended up replacing the cartridge behind the key socket and solved my problem. Total cost $28 and 10 minutes labor......I hope that someone can point me in the right direction with this new fuel' s problem. BV

I would disconnect hose off valve and make sure its clear,Im guessing as to how this is configured as I have not looked into it online etc or looked at my car.It may pay you to research a good indy shop in your area. Im going to try and find a diagram to check it out further.
autoatlanta has the layout in their auto parts look up= its looks complicated I would find it easier to understand looking at it in person, you will have to dig in and do some hands on checking .
Hi Chris,
are you talking about the gas fuel vent line valve (see attachment link).
Hi woodtster,
is there another flap further down the fuel pipe after the metal flap right at the neck of the fuel pipe where the gas nozzle is inserted to fill gas?

Thanks

The problem that I have is still there. However, I can pump fuel in, by very slowly at the same time pressing the pressure release switch at the neck of the fuel neck insert. It would take about 10 minute to fill the tank from low to full.
In a few month when I have more time, probably I will replace the fuel pump inside the gas tank to see if that will solve the problem.
I'll report back after I've done it.
If anybody has different suggestion. Please let me know. Thanks

Fuel pump has nothing to do with it - this is a passive problem while the car is shut off, and you car is running well I presume when it does run.

The fuel pump trick
Depending on the brand of pump, manufacturer of the fuel, reseller of the gasoline, the time of day and many other factors.. your Porsche will either like drinking or not.
Seriously, this is a problem that has gone unnoticed by Porsche and their complete crew of test drivers for the last ohh .... ten years or soo?? You are the first ever person that has problem with this. Seriously though.. turning the fuel nozzle 90 or 180 degrees, of course HOLDING IT MANUALLY .. might do the trick for you. It does for me. Int he end there are some brands of fuel and some gas stations you will avoid because people will look at you funny when yopu pumping gas with the nozzle in weird positions. Other pumps will always work. This is a Porsche option. You paid for it !

Thank you for reminding me about replacing the charcoal canister. I'll do that first to see if it would solve the problem. I assume it is located between the filler neck and the gas tank. Do you have any info on exactly where it is located?
hroussard,
I have try different nozzle positions and different gas stations. Nothing positive so far.
Thanks

Have you tried to leave the ignition on when pumping gas or even - gasp - left the engine on??
