Boost Leak I cannot get to
Boost Leak I cannot get to
I put new hoses and 997.2 IC's on, and of course did a boost leak test from the topside. I have a boost leak coming from a place I cannot see nor get my big hands on it easilly. It is on the passenger side under to oil fill hose on the backside of the air pump. It feels like there may be a small vacumn line disconnected or broken back in there.
Has anyone had this problem. How are is it to get at those lines. Is there a shop manual guide, diagram or DIY anywhere someone could point me to, or is it so far in there that it's a drop the engine type repair?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

sounds like your vacuum line to the FPR.. get that fixed... you need to take the secondary air pump out...

That's exactly what it is. Thanks Mark.
I took the air pump off the bracket and pushed it to the side and low and behold there was a black plastic line disconnected from the little ruber elbow that goes to the FPR. The end of the black plastic line does not appear to have a "rib" for lack of a better word near the end of it. So I pushed it back in, but it seems like it could easily pop out again. Do I try to secure it with a zip tie or is there some other form of hose clamp/way to secure it?

lower engine
Thanks JP. I saw your post previously when I was replacing the F hose and it made things a lot easier. I did lower the engine a bit to give me a little more room for this. I once replaced an F hose without knowing that tip and it was a bear of a job for my big hands.
Welcome joe!!! I know many people are using tie wraps to secure the sense line in place but it was mention to me to use super glue for plastic/rubber joints..... (Thanks TIM!!!)
