996 Interior Upgrade thread

Hey guys.

Just wanted to share the updates to my 911 interior in this thread.

The idea is to class up the interior as much as possible.

Here is the current interior:

First round of parts (Don Le Dallas Custom Steering Wheel):

Raid Alcantara steering wheel and 996 GT3 Shift **** (Gert Carnewal):

Big thanks to:
Don @DallasCustomSteeringWheel
Gert @ Carnewal
Nello @ MaxSpeedMotorsports

Nice! I'll be going a similar route but with a black/red theme. Are you doing the steering wheel in Alcantara as well?

Yes sir!

The steering wheel is charcoal so I had to keep all the bits that color instead of black and red.

Have some seatbelts coming too

Looks great, I have a few similar Alcantara pieces and love the material. My wheel and shift boot was done by DCT Motorworks (Board Sponsor) and they did an awesome high quality job.

Those DCT steering wheel upgrades are pretty tempting.

I actually talked to Gert @ Carnewal for a group buy on Raid steering wheels.

He said he would be willing but the admin wouldn't let me put one together.

Sorry guys.

I wish someone could put leather on the horseshoe, so it would blend into the dash. I hate how it just looks like a big wart in the center of the dash.

BTW I love how you're carrying the red stitching down the arm rest and into the sides of the center console.

Steve, there's a fella at exclusiveoption dot com who I have entrusted to work on my 997 GT2. His re-wraps are a dead ringer for OEM. I'm sure he could manage something like leather or Alcantara around the horseshoe.

Here are a few images of the pieces he's done for me. Can you tell which are OEM?

Steve, Ivan at DCTM has my horseshoe and is covering in black alcantara. I will post pics when it is done and installed.

bbywu,

Your interior looks amazing, thanks for the info.

Steve B.

I didn't think the gap in the panels on the horseshoe could be recovered, I'm excited to see your results.

You can just get a boot without horseshoe. The horseshoe is just optional.

When referring to the horseshoe, I mean the trim around the navigation system, not the trim around the shifter.

It's the carbon fiber trim pieces in the picture below.
