997.2 Intercoolers and Hose Compatability

Hi All,

I recently installed GT2RS IC's on my car and had a heck of a time getting my AP racing couplers to work with the IC's.

997.2 IC's have a small ring inside and prohibit the coupler from seating all the way down inside.

I'm wondering if anyone knows for sure what hoses will work on a 996 and ensure a solid connection to the 997.2 Intercoolers?

I wish I had pics to illustrate what I'm talking about but the car is up at 911Tuning right now.

I was in the same boat with my Forge hoses when I installed the 997.2 ICs. I bought and installed OEM hoses which fit and work perfect. No rocket science and about $150 for all four hoses. No need to reinvent the wheel....

I ran samco boost hoses on my old 996tt and I never was satisfied with the fitment. I'd try the stock hoses now if I were to do it again.

997.2 hoses

See this post. I ran into the same issue, but it really isn't that hard to work around.

Did you order OEM 997.2TT hoses to get it working correctly? What about this talk of updated o-rings that seal better and improve the fitment?

Slightly OT but I am also looking for a good DIY install guide for the 997.2TT intercoolers into a 996TT….can anyone help?

Cheers

thus the issues with AM hoses... just because companyXXX makes hoses doesn't mean it will fit all applications... I actually ask what hoses a client has before I make ICs...

No. I have the latest version of the 996TT hoses. They are rubber encased composite mesh core, good stuff. They come with the new style twin rib O-rings. 70+ track hours at 1.3bar....no issues..

What pwdrhound said, Stock fits best in these coolers. Others can be made to fit with some tweaking.

Thanks for the details. Sounds like a cheap and reliable upgrade.
