Red Alert!! Shoot Out...
Alrighty then, here's the final info. Can't wait to see you guys there.
1)Monday December 1st Dyno day at GIAC
2)Tuesday December 2nd Track day at Buttonwillow Raceway
1/4mile and braking will be done there as well.
So the track time, insurance etc.. has all been taken care of so we're good to go. A suprise last minute entrant should be Sportec (should be cool).
The only "rules" they have per se is that we all show up with street legal registered cars (that means no tubbed out Eddie Bellows-specials hehe). Also we need to use DOT street approved tires so no Hoosiers allowed... and that we use the same tires throughout. So no changing from drag radials back to something else. Otherwise run what ya' brung.
Hopefully this will be a lot of fun.
PS Buddy I still hope that you can make it on this date. Same with you CJV, now that it's switched to Buttonwillow Raceway

Sharkster,
Who is the driver? I am still waiting for my 72 pound injecters from RC Engineering.
I will call them tomorrow. Without the injectors my motor is running way too lean as evidenced in the last dyno pull.

Dangit
What's their number, I'll poke them for you.
PS re: The driver, let me call them and ask, I forgot to sorry. Last time we spoke all the info I had was a "proffesional race car driver". Originally it was fine if we had our own one if we wanted... so if you have anyone in mind...

Ah I was only tryin' to help
I don't want to bother them too much. But if you want, I'd be happy to call them and let them know tht we've organized an event and it'd be in their best interest to get those things over to you

There is only one way I can be at this shootout, I need one crazy **** to ride shotgun and cannonball run the RED BEAST with me from Cali to Asheville, NC. This would be 2350 miles with our hair on fire! Holy crap! The only other option is to have it flown to NC. Anyone know how much that would cost??
Of course the magazine might want to cover the story on the BUDMAN roadtripping it to Tail of the Dragon!!

What happened Chad? I thought the car was ready a while back for the original shootout? We were all hoping to see it run

Todd,
The car was ready. When Excellence cancelled, we proceeded with some additional work. About two weeks ago S Car Go installed their 90 mm throttle body, splitter and intake "Y." HP and torque increased across the line (see latest numbers under cjv/s car go thread). However, the afr's shot to almost 14.0-1 starting about 5800 rpm's. Although they leveled and didn't go any higher thru 7400 rpm's. We need more fuel, it's just too lean, the injectors are max'ed. We were suppose to have a set of 72 pound high impedence injectors from RC Engineering. I just called today. They are now saying we won't receive them until after the first of the year. You won't be seeing us participate at this event.

Let me know if anything changes. Good luck on the injectors.
OK fellas... all of you that are going to do this shoot out, if you could please let me know now what size wheels and tires you need (18s would be best that way we can all use Pilot Sport Cups) for the event, I'd appreciate it. Michelin is still interested in supplying us all with the same tires to even things out
Just drop me an Email to sharky@mangogrits.com
Thanks, sorry about re-doing this all-over.... but I had to start from scratch again.
