Red Alert!! Shoot Out...
Red Alert!! Shoot Out...
Update: Monday November 17th
Here's my last update guys.
1) The driver will be (drum roll) Alex Ross, no way actually, the driver will be Curt Wagner.
2) It may not be possible to do tires for everyone because some of you are using 19s which doesn't fit in with the release of their tires unfortunately.
3) If you have any further questions from now on, please feel free to contact dan.barnes@primedia.com. In fact, anyone that has yet to contact him and interested in running or is running already please do go ahead and contact him.
That's it folks, see you guys December 1-2nd
!
Updated: Tuesday November 11th
Alrighty then, here's the final info. Can't wait to see you guys there.
1)Monday December 1st Dyno day at GIAC
2)Tuesday December 2nd Track day at Buttonwillow Raceway
1/4mile and braking will be done there as well.
So the track time, insurance etc.. has all been taken care of so we're good to go. A suprise last minute entrant should be Sportec (should be cool).
The only "rules" they have per se is that we all show up with street legal registered cars (that means no tubbed out Eddie Bellows-specials hehe). Also we need to use DOT street approved tires so no Hoosiers allowed... and that we use the same tires throughout. So no changing from drag radials back to something else. Otherwise run what ya' brung.
Hopefully this will be a lot of fun.
New Update: 11/11/03
OK fellas... all of you that are going to do this shoot out, if you could please let me know now what size wheels and tires you need (18s would be best that way we can all use Pilot Sport Cups) for the event, I'd appreciate it. Michelin is still interested in supplying us all with the same tires to even things out
Just drop me an Email to sharky@mangogrits.com
Thanks, sorry about re-doing this all-over.... but I had to start from scratch again.

Hehe we could do last minute tuning lol...PS Scargo said they were chipping in a stock GT2 so we needen't worry about getting beat
Is Chad coming?
I'm getting an ARP chip next week nothing crazy power wise, however, the car has big tires and quite a bit of suspension work and I may be pulling the AWD out soon ... may be interesting to see what happens with mod's in that direction. If there are any more openings...I'm leaning towards bringing my car if there's still room. Also .... Are you planning to weigh all the cars??? When looking at the 0-60 and 0-100 1/4 mile etc.. next thing I look at is HP then weight.......

Cary,

Sorry I didn't mean to assume you were in, I spoke to Rob@Scargo yesterday before you and he said the car would be ready but hopefully it works out with your schedule. I guess they went with what was close to the original date. They talked about doing it a week later but with Thanksgiving they figured it best to do the week before.
