Thumbs up Wonderful Indy shop in Kennesaw, GA!!

Hello guys and gals,
I just wanted give some rep points to a great little shop called Goldcrest Motorsports that is conveniently located for me in Kennesaw, Ga. In no way am I affiliated with them, but just wanted to share my experience I had at their shop this morning.

Being the huge Pcar enthusiast I am, I bought my 2001 996tt about 4 years ago and couldn't be happier. Since purchase I have done an exhaust, SSK, DV's, f-hose, and some interior and exterior cosmetic mods. I do most of my maintenance and change the oil every summer even though I barely drive her 1800 miles a year.

So, now I am due for my 30k mile maintenance I decided to take my car to get the coolant flushed and changed. Instead of potentially being racked over the coals at the dealer, I opted to try a local pcar exclusive shop I found out about during last years Petit Lemans race. Glad I decided to give them a shot to earn my business!! I was thoroughly impressed by the time and extra care the mechanic was taking to keep from scratching my paint or making a mess by placing towels around the bumper and rear fender. The office manager, Allen, was very personable and professional. One of the lead crew chiefs for their race cars even took the time to walk around the back and show me one of their race cars and pointed out the amount of detail that went into building this car. You could tell each one of the guys there were well experienced and loved their jobs! I am definitely going back for any of my Pcar needs!

If y'all read this then thanks again Goldcrest Motorsports for your level of care with my car and your professionalism! First impressions are HUGE for me and you guys passed my test with flying colors! Looking forward to the day I have y'all set up my suspension for some DE track days. Customer for life!!

Since you're calling out NoATL shops, I'll give a similar shoutout to Motor Werks Racing in Cumming. Hadn't used them before for previous Porsches, but I bought a 2002 TT last month and it had been serviced there previously, plus they are a sponsor of our PCA newsletter, Peachtree Presse.

My clutch pedalwas way hard, and changed hardness depending on engine temp, so I took it in today for a diagnosis (assumed it was accumulator). Similar treatment to what Spoolbus reports for Goldcrest. Took care to look after the cosmetics of the car. Did the work quickly, for the quoted price. No drama. And a beautiful shop with probably 25 race cars sitting around being prepped for next weekend.

Specifically talked with MWR about that yesterday. They have a dyno (the shop is housed in three large, spotless, adjacent buildings in an industrial park) and a lot of experience with 996 Turbos. There were three in while I was there. Mine was the 7th 996T accumulator they've done this year.

Can't speak to the results of the tune, since I've not had it done yet, but I was talking to Danielle, one of the owners and the "face and voice" of the business, and she is having Matthew, the other owner and tuning specialist, call me to discuss what specifics I want in a tune, and what the path of progression should be.

Funny, I just heard about this shop for the first time last week. Looks like the do basic maintenance and race prep. Not as much hardcore turbo builds, but I could be wrong. Either way looks like a nice outfit, I might have to look into them if there's something I can't do myself.

I've also heard Top Speed Motorsports is very solid when it comes to tuning and building Turbo cars. Anyone ever dealt with them?

buckhead imports in smyrna ga has a awd dyno dynamics dyno and they are a first class shop. porsche bmw and mercedes are their specialty . whipple charged jag and custom fab work are just a couple of the things they do. turbos and s/c bmw are common builds for them
