Failure of engine compartment blower fan.

I've been getting this message "Failure of engine compartment blower fan" from time to time, however, the fan is working. Whenever I parked the car, I can hear the fan kicked-in, etc. At the time when I received the message, my temperature was just a little bit above the 180 mark. I do lived in the area where temperature is above 100 degrees plus.

It can't be the thermostat, fuse, or ???

Any ideas on what/where to look for?

Thanks in advance.

Mine has a MAShaw GT2 wing and does the exact same thing. Annoying as hell. Just recently I started getting the warning and the little red idiot light at the top of the temp gauge has started going off even though the needle is at 187 degrees. I've hooked up my computer to the car and checked that the temp gauge was reading correctly. It was.

I do have one question for the group. Especially the guys with the stock turbo wing. When the auxiliary fan kick on in your cars does the fan suck air into, or blow air out of the engine compartment?

Isn't it suppose to blow hot air out? Sounds like a common thing with GT2 wing.

On stock turbo tail fan draws air from topside and blows it down past the motor.

That's what I thought! Those of us with GT2 after market wings have the exact opposite. Stephen what do you think? Could this be causing the problem. As a final logic check how about some of you real GT2 owners weighing in. When your aux fan kicks on does the fan draw air in or out of the engine compartment? Thanks all.

Does anyone know if I simply reverse the wires to the fan will that cause the fan to run in the opposite direction?

it's simple to reverse the polarity if you want the fan to switch rotation direction.
