Who has the highest octane unleaded race fuel?

Who sells the highest octane unleaded race fuel and where can I get it?

I have just today found a station locally where I can pump 100 octane but that is all. Do the octane boosters you can buy at the auto parts stores really work?

Ironically, VP MS 109 is actually 105 octane (R+M/2), not 109:

http://www.vpracingfuels.com/vp_01_f...9B90E#unleaded

MOTORSPORT 109
• Motor Octane: 101
• R+M/2: 105
• Research Octane: 109

Most VP products are named according to their R+M/2 octane rating, but with their 105 octane fuel, VP named it according to the research octane number (doesnt make sense to me). Nevertheless, VP's MS109 (105 octane) is the highest octane unleaded fuel that I am aware of.

I personally use Sunoco GT Plus (104 octane).

http://www.racegas.com/fuelspecs/sun...eadedplus.htm.

I can purchase the Sunoco gas for considerably less than VP MS109 because it is not street legal and, therefore, it is not taxed in the same manner as street legal gas.

Hope that helps.

VP109 is the highest octane unleaded racing fuel. Not street legal.

I've used it, but not in a Porsche street car!

Craig - any idea why the Sunoco isn't street legal?

No idea. All I know is what my distributor told me. He sells both VP and Sunoco. He told me that he must pass along certain taxes for the VP MP 109 that do not exist for the Sunoco GT Plus. I have no idea why this is the case.

Those octane boosters in Auto Parts stores are all a scam.

When they say they boost octane by "4 Points", it really means 0.4 Octane. So if you added it to your tank of 100 Octane, it would now be 100.4 Octane (Not 104 like one would imagine).
